  3. 'Pleased we're through... but not at our best'published at 22:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    FT: Bolton 1-2 Luton

    Luton Town

Luton boss Rob Edwards, speaking in the post-match press conference: "Pleased we are through, tonight was about winning. Not at our best, sloppy in too many moments, allowed them to build into the game."

Preference in next round: "No not at all, in a way it is better to play a Premier League team. We know we have to be full tilt. This game we just dropped a bit, and you can't do that. Bolton are a big club, but when we are favourites, we took our foot off the gas and Bolton could have punished us. But lots of good play by us, just a little sloppy in final third."

On rotation: "We had to manage a few tonight. But we try to win every match we go into, I genuinely mean that. We found a way to win tonight."

The winter break: "We're going away for some warm weather, getting training in and time together, down time together. Has been a tough season so far, everything with Locks as well, it has been an emotional time."

On Bolton: "They are winning games in a brilliant way, causing us problems with the press, great on the counter attack. They had a little too much of the play when we were 2-1 up."

  5. 'A big night for me'published at 22:24 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

FT: Bristol City 1-0 West Ham

    Bristol City

Bristol City defender Cameron Pring, speaking to BBC Sport: "It is massive for me. That is the first time I've gone against a Premier League opposition and beat them so a big night for me and a huge night for the club. We need to take it into the league now.

"The crowd are massive here. They really do feel like a 12th man. You can feel the energy behind you. They were massive tonight.

"Tommy [Conway] has worked so hard. He hasn't scored as many as he'd like this season but he keeps doing the right things and getting in the right areas. We're delighted for him.

"I feel like we've got an identity now, we like to be on the front foot and press teams, it doesn't matter who we play. We've shown the togetherness in the squad tonight. When the game turns like that [with the red card] and into a scrap it pulls the boys together. The togetherness is massive in the squad at the moment."

  6. 'A blow to go out'published at 22:22 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

FT: Bristol City 1-0 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BBC Sport: "Disappointed. Lots of things didn't go for us tonight but overall disappointed.

"We had one or two opportunities, especially in the first half. Some good things but not enough to win the game."

On West Ham red card: "No problem. I think it is a red card from what I had seen."

On no VAR in this game: "It is amazing they call this one of the biggest cup competitions but we don't have VAR in all the games, some you do and some you don't."

A blow to go out? "It is a blow because we would have liked to have been in the cup but we have Europe to look forward to in March and we are in a good position in the league, but we are disappointed to go out."

FT: Bristol City 1-0 West Ham

    Bristol City

Bristol City boss Liam Manning, speaking to BBC One about how proud he is: "Massively. I think it was another solid performance. We showed real resilience, a good connection and level of organisation. At times it was challenging and we had to keep our emotions in check and we did a terrific job at that.

"We don't carry anybody - everybody attacks and everybody defends. You need everyone to turn up and do the basics as well and when called upon give that little bit extra.

"I actually think we can improve and get a little bit better."

On the atmosphere: "Phenomenal. A special memory for me and the players."

On facing either Blackpool or Nottingham Forest: "We will see how the game looks tomorrow night."

On taking this performance into the league: "We had a disappointing performance and result against Preston. It is the challenge now, how do we find the consistency in the league? The lads have shown they can do it against Premier League opposition."
