A huge standing ovation from both sets of fans on the 71st minute, in memory of Iain Purslow.

    Surely, that's sealed this tie?

Newport edge closer to a money-spinning date with Manchester United as Will Evans produces an excellent low finish.

    Eastleigh's players look crestfallen.

A Newport fan has decided to take his top off. Brave decision. It's sub-zero in Hampshire.

So do we get extra time if there’s a draw tonight or are we straight to penalties?

    Chris, North Wales

We do indeed get extra time. A midweek treat.

Seems to be a lot of Premier League fans on here complaining about this 'proper' game & not the sterile dross the Premier League dishes up!!!!! It's a CONTACT sport!!!!!

Into the final minute at Molineux.

Extra-time looming on a freezing cold night in the Black Country.

  12. Postpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Bristol City 1-0 West Ham

Really good spell for Bristol City at the moment but West Ham's defence is blocking all the shots before Sam Bell's cross is clutched out of the air by Lukasz Fabianski.

  13. Postpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Eastleigh 1-2 Newport

A big chance for Paul McCallum to equalise but he puts it over. Promising signs for Eastleigh. Fifteen minutes plus stoppages to find an equaliser.

  14. Postpublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Eastleigh 1-2 Newport

Seb Palmer-Houlden goes for glory but only finds the side netting. That was a great chance for Newport to seal a date with Manchester United.

We just need to keep our heads and get a good chance for Maupay. I really don’t think we can win on pens…

  17. CLOSE!published at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Bristol City 1-0 West Ham

Emerson has a pop from distance but it is always going wide before Nahki Wells' thumping drive at the other end is pushed away by Lukasz Fabianski.

This is a really open game now.

  18. goal

GOAL - Birmingham 1-1 Hullpublished at 66 mins

    Jay Stansfield (Birmingham)

All square in Birmingham. Jay Stansfield gets the goal that might be taking the match to extra time, with a right-footed shot from the middle of the penalty area.

An instant impact from the substitute, who had only been on the pitch for three minutes.

People will moan about VAR but the Bristol City v West Ham game is giving a few good scenarios where VAR would be useful.

    Scott, Edinburgh

  20. Postpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Bristol City 1-0 West Ham

With VAR, I think both sides would be down to 10 men here. The absence of it is, so far, serving Bristol City well.
