Bournemouth are currently sitting pretty just below mid-table, so are more additions in the window needed?

Every fan of every club always likes something new and shiny to arrive during the transfer window, but long term - it may not be essential for some to do so.

Many could argue that we are one of those clubs, with us being as "safe" as I can remember in the top flight and having spent significantly in the last few windows. Therefore, it’ll probably be a January of very few incomings.

However, the lack of depth in certain areas may well be a key reason for consecutive league defeats for the Cherries, after what was an impressive unbeaten run.

Injuries to first choice full-backs have certainly left Bournemouth light in those particular areas recently, with both Dango Ouattara and Marcus Tavernier having to deputise, and the Cherries even having to recall defender James Hill from his Blackburn loan to come straight in and start against Liverpool.

All players mentioned have done an adequate job in that role, but it certainly isn’t ideal. So maybe after this weekend's defeat, and a new injury for Max Aarons, the powers that be at the club may try to help Andoni Iraola by bringing in a full-back to strengthen the squad somewhat.

Not long to go but we shall find out soon enough whether we stick with what has got us to 12th thus far, or if we try to help ourselves kick on even more.

I think Andoni Iraola will make changes at half time.

Bournemouth have been fantastic, not just the fact they're five up but the way they've played, the way they've passed the ball.

Fans will be thinking we'll come and watch Bournemouth every week because it's been a fantastic performance.

This may be more pertinent given how the first half panned out for the visitors...

Swansea head coach Luke Williams says he expects a “late flurry” of transfer activity before the window closes on 1 February.

Swansea are yet to sign a player this month despite Williams and chairman Andy Coleman expressing a desire to strengthen their squad.

Williams says the Championship club continue to work hard in their bid to bring in new recruits.

“It’s probably fair to say the whole market is moving slowly, but I have seen some impressive stuff from Andy Coleman,” he said.

“He has not got his feet up, put it that way.

“But it is difficult. There’s a lot going on. It’s probably a good thing if you don’t know too much information because it probably means people are not telling the wrong sources.

“That’s actually really encouraging because I am hearing a lot more things.”

That was an embarrassing 45 minutes, Bournemouth have given Swansea a football lesson.

There's a time to play football and there's a time not to play football, Swansea have forced so many issues on themselves, there's no wonder they're 5-0 down.

Bournemouth look hungry for more goals.

I can't think of many times the Cherries have been up 5-0 at half time.

Swansea have been an embarrassment. They need to show the fans who have travelled all this way that they're going to give it a go.

  8. HALF-TIME - Bournemouth 5-0 Swanseapublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

Bournemouth keeper Mark Travers would have been forgiven for making himself a cup of tea and getting to grips with a jigsaw, given how little work he's had to do today.

But he is alert and agile enough to make a brilliant save from Liam Cullen's stinging left-footed shot.

And that's half-time. Brilliant from Bournemouth, pitiful from Swansea.

I can't believe what I'm seeing, I'm scratching my head.

I get that Swansea want to play out from back and establish possession, but you've still got to be able to defend.

Some of the decision-making tonight has been terrible.

Yet more sloppy defending from Swansea hands Bournemouth a corner.

Referee Darren England deems that Marcos Senesi fouled Swans striker Jerry Yates. A reprieve of sorts for the visitors.

    Bournemouth 4-0 Swansea

Swansea have a corner but it only amounts to a Bournemouth counter-attack, which doesn't come off.

Considering the Cherries lost 4-0 to Liverpool here on Sunday, this is a pretty decent riposte - even considering the opposition.

If ever there was a man of the match at half-time you've got one here.

David Brooks, two assists and a goal, exceptional play.

I thought he'd have taken it one more touch but he took it well.
