    HT: Liverpool 2-1 Norwich

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool have had periods where they looked really good. Bradley’s been brilliant but it’s only just been enough so far. Norwich will feel a little bit boosted by the end of that half seeing Liverpool not really going at the top level. They will be thinking we’re still in this tie and if they can keep it tight until the last 15 minutes we have a chance here and that may well be the manager’s plan.

We've just past the hour mark in this match.

You wonder when Russell Martin will start to ring the changes if his Saints side are to get something from this game.

Ismael Kone's cross just evades the lively Yaser Asprilla who was racing in at the back post.

Watford certainly don't seem content with just the one goal.

Ar vind on X: Liverpool youngsters have got a spring on their step today.

Kindergarten Klopp on X: How about this Connor Bradley? The kid is fearless and should have two assists on the day already.

    LIverpool 2-1 Norwich

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The game has kind of slowed down. It's quite quiet. I thought when Liverpool got the second goal they would press the accelerator and make lots of chances to get the third one. But it’s not really happened.

What about young Connor Bradley’s performance so far, very promising player Liverpool have on their hands.

    Milo in Portrush

Gakpo has simply been awful in his finishing, passing and decision making so far.

    Paul (Liverpool fan)

That is a shocking miss from Gakpo. Everything he's done so far in this game has been poor. He's just not good enough to play for Liverpool.

    LIverpool 2-1 Norwich

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

There have been chances for Norwich but once again the wrong decision was made when they broke. They are not going to get too many chances at Anfield so the decision-making has to be better.

  15. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2024

Norwich can't quite get anything going really. I can only really recall them getting forward with any real purpose on a couple of occasions so far.

Virgil van Dijk is out to warm up. Not quite sure he'll be needed if Liverpool continue to dominate in this manner.

Cody Gakpo is the latest home player to have a pop at goal but scuffs his effort wide from the edge of the Norwich box.

    LIverpool 2-1 Norwich

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Every football fan knows what’s happened there. The goalkeeper has played it out to a midfielder in his own box facing his goal. That ball was never on in a million years but teams trying to play out from the back keep doing it. We see lots of teams doing it and the reality is some teams are not good enough to do it but they keep doing it.
