There is a bit of debate about whether this is a 'Black Country derby' in the truest sense because of the two clubs' respective locations.

The Black Country itself derives its name from the coalfields that used to exist in this part of the Midlands, to the best of Birmingham.

The Black Country Museum is a 10-minute drive from here in Dudley and whilst Aston Villa, evidently, are a huge presence in this part of the world, given West Brom and Wolves were also founder members of the Football League, the rivalry between these two clubs is fierce and deep.

There is a significant police presence outside The Hawthorns this morning but it is quiet at the moment.

West Midlands Police said earlier this week they had relaxed an initial decision to cancel rest days on the day of the game but they still have plenty of officers in the vicinity of the stadium.
