No excuse for fan behaviour like that, whichever side they are from. Ban everybody involved and play behind closed doors for the rest of the season. Maybe that might get through those thick dense heads.

John Murray was right, that is the section where a lot of the players' families sit.

Probably on X: Very disturbing scenes at The Hawthorns, harking back to the darkest days of English football. Fans fighting each other and with police. If it's not sorted soon, the game should be abandoned and both clubs should be kicked out of the competition.

There are loads of police and stewards in the far corner trying to get the situation under control.

Immediately after Matheus Cunha's goal, missiles were thrown from into and out of the visitors section.

The fighting started at the other end of the stadium. A fan has been taken past me by police.

There are huge numbers of police in the far corner trying to restore order.

Kyle Bartley has come out with a child in his arms and I think that must be where the families are sat. That is why many of the West Brom players ran over to that corner. My assumption is that is where the West Brom families are.

Absolutely love a derby but you have to ask what kind of juncture you’ve reached in life as a grown man if you use football for a fight and only because you’ve got a big crowd with you. Embarrassing.

They are not easy finishes. Cunha's first touch takes him away from goal but he puts it through his legs.

    Surely that's that.

Two West Brom players let a long ball bounce in behind then, Matheus Cunha takes it in his stride and slots between the legs of keeper Josh Griffiths.

It's a good job there is no VAR in this game.

Slowed down, I don't think that incident involving Kyle Bartley would have looked good at all.

Clearly there was nothing in his mind other than stopping Matheus Cunha. It was high.

I am not advocating players to get sent off and in an atmosphere like this, it is part of the hurly-burly but I don't think he would have survived Stockley Park's involvement.
