    Jordan White gets his head to a long punt forward, flicks it on to Josh Sims, but the diminutive winger puts his effort over the bar.

    Hibs should be ahead! A brilliant ball from Joe Newell picks out Christian Doidge, completely free in the middle, and the striker places his header well wide.

    That is an enormous miss from the former Kilmarnock man.

    It's a simple desperate punt up the pitch that Maolida somehow controls. He could slide it left to Christian Doidge but he shoots straight through the two defenders and it beats the keeper.

    Harry Paton somehow manages to blast wide from inside the box as Motherwell continue to press forward. A perfectly weighted ball on the right from Stephen O'Donnell fell to Paton, who took one touch to control and a second to put it wide of the St Johnstone net.

    Immediately beforehand, Bevis Mugabi somehow contrived to not score after flicking the ball down from head to the outside of his boot but just edging wide of the post in a crowded St Johnstone box.

    Hibs almost get a quick second! The ball is pulled back to Emiliano Marcondes in the box, he takes a touch and composes himself, firing low and hard - but goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara produced a good save with his feet.

    It comes from Joe Newell's weak foot, as a cross is cleared to the edge of the box and the English midfielder loops his volley into the top corner.

    That's one of the best strikes this season - but will it give Hibs the momentum they need to get back into this?
