Screamer! What a goal from Carrie Jones!

From nowhere, Bristol City are level thanks to a stunner from Jones.

A weak clearance from Kenza Dali drops at the feet of Jones, 25 yards out. She takes a touch and then arrows the ball into the top corner.

    Brilliant strike.

    Aston Villa 2-1 Bristol City

Super ball over the top from Rachel Corsie, who already has two assists this afternoon.

It drops just over the head of the defender but Adriana Leon can't bring it under control and ends up off balance and slices the shot wide from a very tight angle.

Bristol City are showing much more attacking intent as they go in search of an equaliser.

But that intent has not been turned into anything resembling a chance as yet.

Another chance goes begging for Villa and this time Rachel Daly is the guilty party.

After good work from Adriana Leon and Kenza Dali, Daly has time and space inside the box but sends a weak shot wide of the post.

Just as they did after going behind in the first half Bristol City have responded well and win a corner.

However, they take it short, Aston Villa win the ball back and counter.

Adriana Leon's pass drifts out of play, though, and now we'll have a delay as the referee talks to Brooke Aspin after the substitute fouled Rachel Daly off the ball.

She's lucky to avoid a booking.

    Adriana Leon

    Aston Villa lead again!

A corner is only cleared as far as the edge of the penalty area and Villa get it out wide, where Anna Patten swings in a cross from the right.

Rachel Corsie arrives at the back post and cushions the ball back across the face of goal.

It looks to have gone too far but Adriana Leon nips in and finishes from a tight angle.

Wonderful quick feet from Kenza Dali before she gets a shot away from the edge of the area.

Her wait for a goal goes on, though, Shae Yanez gets down to make the save just as it seemed the ball was creeping into the corner.

Crucial block from Naomi Layzell and then a sharp reaction stop from Shae Yanez!

Aston Villa seize on a loose ball out from the visitors, Adriana Leon drives into the box and pulls the ball back.

Kenza Dali miscontrols and the chance to shoot goes but she tees up Jordan Nobbs.

The shot is goalbound but Layzell throws herself in front of it on the six-yard line.

Back come Villa and this time Dali does get a shot off, Yanez is unsighted but manages to react late to save with her feet. So close for Villa!

HT: Aston Villa 1-1 Bristol City

Amalie Threstrup had just nine touches in that first half.

However, given one of them was the strike to bring Bristol City level, I'm not sure Lauren Smith will mind too much!

The goal was Threstrup's seventh of the season. Her team might be struggling but she's having a good campaign.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Aston Villa 1-1 Bristol City

Chance for Aston Villa at the end of the first half as Kirsty Hanson gets in down the left channel again.

Kenza Dali is up in support but Hanson can't pick her out with the cutback.

That'll do for the first half. Jordan Nobbs' deflected striker but Villa ahead but Amalie Threstrup levelled for Bristol City just two minutes later.
