That's all from us for this afternoon as Arsenal pick up a big win and Manchester United suffer a result which could have big ramifications.

Are the Red Devils now out of Champions League contention? It would take a lot to turn things around in their last eight matches.

That's not all for the division this weekend, though, and we'll be back tomorrow to bring you coverage of the remaining four Women's Super League games.

For now, I'll leave you with Emma Sanders' report from a sold-out Emirates Stadium.

    See you on Sunday!

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Man Utd

It's a big win for Arsenal, and it's a big step towards cementing a spot in the Champions League for next season.

They're now seven points ahead of fourth-placed Manchester United, who have slipped a long way off the pack at the top of the table. United still have Man City and Chelsea left to play too.

It's a close race at the top three and Arsenal have ensured they maintain their place in that by bouncing back from their recent losses - against City in the FA Cup and West Ham in the league.

  3. 'Massive for us'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Man Utd

    Arsenal

Arsenal forward Cloe Lacasse speaking to BBC Sport: "This was massive for us to come here with a sold-out Emirates, get the victory and keep us in contention. It's a great way to lead into the international break."

On her goal: "It was more a reaction goal than anything. It came flying through and I was the lucky one to get my head onto it and get that goal."

On dominating the game: "We knew we wanted to dominate physically, technically, emotionally. We kept our heads and once we got the goal I think we carried the momentum forward."

On what pleased her the most: "I think the atmosphere. The supporters coming out for us like they did makes all the difference.

"Arsenal's massive, we're leading the charge in this. It's not just today, we want to carry this going forward into the future and I think this is what the future holds for women's football."

On this being another big step towards Champions League qualification: "Now going forward we'll focus on ourselves, getting the three points. We're in contention and we'll keep fighting to the end to get those points."

  4. 'We weren't good enough'published at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United captain Katie Zelem speaking to Sky Sports: "We weren't good enough today, it's plain and simple. 3-0 down at half time you've got a mountain to climb. To score three goals in one half is pretty much impossible. We gave it a good go but our first half wasn't good enough.

On what went wrong: "I don't think you can pick one area, we didn't play our own game. We didn't get hold of the ball, we weren't tight enough out of possession. We really need to reflect on that game. That was our chance to get back into the top three race and that's very difficult now.

"I think it's three cheap goals. It's three goals that are definitely preventable, but to be honest I don't think we deserved to win today.

On what it means for United's top three chances: "We'll never say never. Winning today would've put us back into the race. Now we're many points behind with still a lot of tough games to play. We'll never give up but we've definitely got to be better than today."

Arsenal confirm that today's game set a new league record for the number of tickets sold.

They say in a statement: "Arsenal set a new Barclays WSL record on Saturday after 60,160 tickets were sold for their lunchtime kick off against Manchester United. The sold-out Emirates Stadium eclipses the previous record of 59,042 set in N5 earlier this season against Cheslea."

A great first-half performance from Arsenal. They killed the game off by half-time being 3-0 up. It was a huge mountain for Manchester United to climb.

United will be really frustrated with the manner in which they conceded. The best period of play came in added time in the second half when it was far too late.

Full credit to Arsenal. They needed a response and they got exactly that.

A ruthless display by Arsenal. They were comfortably the better side and should have extended their lead.

United were poor defensively and look miles off the league's top three at the moment.

Marc Skinner has been under pressure this year and that result will not have pleased his critics.

    Lucia Garcia (90+6 mins)

    Consolation for Manchester United.

It's a good delivery by Ella Toone, but you'd probably expect Sabrina D'Angelo to do better there and punch the ball before it gets to Lucia Garcia.

She doesn't and the United forward pokes home.

Tactics from United all wrong. No cohesion, poor out of possession and passing not good. Is it the players, the management or are Arsenal actually a good side?

A decent chance for Manchester United, as Lucia Garcia has the ball inside the Arsenal box, but Arsenal's defenders get back and knock the ball away.
