I thought the moment was gone and Beth Mead plays the ball past Evans. It's a clumsy challenge and she can have no complaints. There's definitely contact there.

    Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd

Cloe Lacasse sends a cross towards Beth Mead, Gemma Evans lunges in, Mead goes to the ground and the referee points to the penalty spot.

Katie McCabe is back up and will continue playing.

Gemma Evans was already on a booking before that challenge. Was she lucky to not receive a second?

Zelem almost sets Lacasse up at the back post and she has an empty goal to head home. Zelem tries to clear the ball and all she does is assist Lacasse at the back post who is unmarked. Unfortunate again and Manchester United only have themselves to blame.

    Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd

Katie McCabe is down and looks to be in quite a bit of pain after a Gemma Evans challenge.

Evans looked to just catch her on the ankle.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 38 mins

The game is definitely emotionally charged.

Katie McCabe gets a booking as she shoves Ella Toone to the ground off the ball.

Manchester United will be furious because that's the second messy goal they have conceded.

It was great work by Arsenal down the right but Katie Zelem couldn't believe her clearance gifted a free header to Cloe Lacasse.

You can see frustrations starting to show from United now.

    Cloe Lacasse (35 mins)

    Arsenal double their lead!

Beth Mead has the ball on the right-hand side and sends a lovely pass towards Victoria Pelova.

Katie Zelem tries to clear the ball after it's flicked towards Stina Blackstenius.

Instead, though, Zelem's clearance ends up as a perfect delivery at the right height for Cloe Lacasse to head home.

What nobody seems to be taking into account with United this season is the amount of injuries in key areas. Bought George, Watson, Rabjon all out now long term. And then Riviere gets injured. Whole right back department is missing. And that’s after losing Russo and Battle, extremely big players. Russo wasn’t even needed at Arsenal. They’re playing Evans (a centre back) at left back here. They don’t have the funds the “big three” have in terms of monopolising the WSL.

Beth Mead has just had a stern talking to from the referee. She was warning her against persistent fouling because Marc Skinner and the United players were not happy. A few home fans chant "Meado" to back her up.

    Close!

The ball spills on the edge of the Arsenal box and Nikita Parris pulls the ball back to Ella Toone.

Toone's shot deflects off Laia Codina and nearly sneaks in at the far post but goes just behind for a corner instead.

Really good run there from Lacasse. Blundell had to make that challenge because it's the kind of area where Lacasse can really punish you.

United have their first chance in a while, Lucia Garcia making a darting run down the right-hand side.

Arsenal defend well, though, and their defence get back to close down the space.

Arsenal have looked by far the better team since they went 1-0 up. You can see the confidence and the way they are moving the ball. There is lots of space out in the channels and Beth Mead has looked especially lively on the right.
