    Arsenal 1-0 Man Utd

Manchester United haven't lost back-to-back WSL away games since April 2021.

They were beaten by Chelsea the last time they played away from home.

Arsenal are in full control at the Emirates. Will that continue to be the case?

Stina Blackstenius and Cloe Lacasse were selected ahead of Alessia Russo and so far, you can see why.

Both have found joy with runs in behind United's defence.

Marc Skinner was calling over to Hannah Blundell earlier with some instructions on how to handle it.

Stina Blackstenius gallops down the left-hand side and tries to beat Millie Turner, but the United defender nullifies the threat when she cuts back inside.

    Arsenal 1-0 Man Utd

Arsenal have been dominant since taking the lead.

40.5% of the action took place in United's third in the first quarter of an hour, and it's been similar since then.

    Close!

Beth Mead is inside the Manchester United box, chops towards goal and tries to curl an effort into the top corner, but Millie Turner gets a touch on it to send it behind for a corner.

Arsenal don't produce anything of note from the set-piece.

The game has settled a bit since Arsenal went ahead.

United had a strong start, but the hosts are doing a good job of keeping hold of the possession.

It was just fizzed in, no height on it at all. Mary Earps couldn't really see the ball with so many bodies in front of her and Earps didn't stand a chance. That's really unfortunate for Manchester United.

We have regressed under Skinner, we need to make leadership changes on and off the pitch in order to evolve as a team. We will lose today and that should be the last straw.

The noise from the crowd... Wow.

All the Arsenal players ran over to Katie McCabe, who stood with her arms outstretched, welcoming them over to her.

She was the one who played in the corner, it was left by Cloe Lacasse at the near post and Geyse just couldn't react in time to move out of the way.

    A huge goal for Arsenal.

    Geyse (OG, 10 mins)

The Gunners take an early lead!

A low corner by Katie McCabe deflects off of Geyse at the near post and rebounds past Mary Earps. It might also have taken a touch off of Maya Le Tissier

Arsenal are ahead. United will feel unlucky.

Arsenal have a corner, Mary Earps comes out to punch it and the ball must travel about 40 yards up the pitch.

Quite the contrast to Sabrina D'Angelo's failed catch a few minutes earlier.

Arsenal work forwards this time, with the ball finding Beth Mead's feet on the edge of the Manchester United box.

Manchester United have come out of the blocks on fire! Nikita Parris has been heavily involved.

She should have scored then. She thinks it took a deflection, and it may have because we couldn't see from where we're sat, but it looked like she scuffed the effort.

The United coaching staff had their hands on their heads on the edge of the touchline.

There were so many bodies around. D'Angelo is coming for it and she's got to keep hold of it there. It's so, so dangerous.

    Dangerous!

Sabrina D'Angelo comes out to catch Katie Zelem's delivery and drops the ball.

Nikita Parris nearly pounces on it in the six-yard box but can't direct it towards goal.

To all those (including stood near to me!) on Skinner's back, behave! Losing Russo & Batlle was always gonna be near-impossible to replace whilst maintaining our fantastic 2022/23 style of play which took us so close to the double. Incomings like Geyse, Miyazawa, Malard are all super-talented individuals, but not the same kind of team players and definitely never here for the long run to re-build around. Plus Skinner hardly to blame for the madness of drawing PSG in CL qualifying. The only complaint I'd have is not keeping what we had in Martha Thomas and Grace Clinton and also not going in for the fantastic Celine Bizet - all 3 are starring at Spurs but could have been starring for us!
