Rotherham continue to prop up the Championship table and their plight was worsened by defeat at home to Watford.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday pulled off a vital win at the bottom against fellow strugglers Millwall who are in serious trouble after QPR also won against Bristol City.

Huddersfield's late defeat by Hull means they are deep in the relegation mire, with Stoke's defeat by Coventry meaning they will be looking over their shoulders, too.

Elsewhere, Swansea's loss to promotion contenders Ipswich and Blackburn letting a two-goal lead slip in their Lancashire derby with Preston means they will be keeping a close eye on matters at the bottom.

Birmingham were the big movers of the day and finish in 15th courtesy of their win against Sunderland.

This is the lay of the land at the top of the Championship after today's fixtures.

Leicester's defeat by Middlesbrough will have failed to dampen their spirits given their commanding lead at the top of the table.

Leeds finish the day in second courtesy of their lunchtime win against Plymouth while Ipswich continued their winning run as they beat Swansea to keep pace.

The race for the play-offs is really getting interesting, too.

Coventry end the day in sixth but are level on points with Norwich and Hull just below them.

Preston's draw with Blackburn and Sunderland's defeat on their travels at Birmingham means they lose ground in the race to the top six.

What a crazy, crazy end to this match!

Jacob Greaves' early goal looked like it would be enough for the play-off chasers before Jack Rudoni popped up with a leveller in injury-time.

However, Greaves wasn't done and won it for the Tigers in the fourth minute of time added on.

Town just two points above the relegation zone as new gaffer Andre Breitenreiter takes over on Monday.

    FT: Preston 2-2 Blackburn

    Steve Eyre
Former Manchester City coach on BBC Radio Lancashire

The second half, I did not see much from either side that showed they were going to take a risk to win the game.

The quality just was not there.

They cancelled each other out really and simply seemed happy with a point each.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way is that this was an entertaining Lancashire derby that tailed off during an edgy second half.

    Honours even.
