Tommy in Nuneaton: Re Ewan at 13:24, don't think it's accurate to say WBA have been 'dropped.' Albion were 13 off second on New Year's Day (and 10 behind Soton in third) are 16 off second tonight if this holds. The gap to the automatic chasers has always been big.

What seems to happen is every month a different mid-table team wins four in five and is suddenly one point behind, then as soon as they get to that point lose two in a row. It'll probably be Preston next.

Two disappointing crosses there from Ryan Giles in what could have been good positions.

    Lazily blazing it away.

Strange from him as usually his delivery is bang on.

Then the gaffer tried to set the standard but...

Shocking touch there then from Liam Rosenior.

  4. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Hull 1-1 West Brom

Hull enjoy a good bit of action, piling on the pressure around the West Brom box from two corners.

They fire repeated balls into the area but it ping-pongs around a lot without really challenging the visitors' keeper.

  5. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Hull 1-1 West Brom

West Brom get a bit of a let-off here as Erik Pieters gifts the hosts a free-kick after a clumsy challenge.

Can't work out if Jean Michael Seri's ball was a cross or a shot, but it crept towards goal and forced Alex Palmer to scramble to palm it over the bar.

As mentioned earlier, if West Brom fans were hoping the club's takeover by American businessman Shilen Patel was going to be completed this week, they will have to wait a little bit longer.

The Baggies put out a statement on Friday afternoon that said the deal is now expected to be completed some time next week and that "all parties remain committed to the agreement".

The club had initially expected the deal to be finalised this week, after announcing on 16 February that Bilkul Football WBA - owned by Florida-based Patel and his father Kiran Patel - had agreed to purchase the club.

The deal will see Patel purchase an 87.8% stake in the Championship side, who have been owned by Guochuan Lai since 2016.

Ewan in London: Seems like having the top four teams significantly pulling away has given Hull and the chasing pack a much clearer goal in getting their play-off spot secured, whereas West Brom are still slightly reeling a bit from getting dropped.

A cracker from Carvalho, but then eight minutes later, that mix up from the corner sees us all-square at the break.

It has lived up to what we expected really - two quality sides in possession.

Both sides are always going to be in this game.

Hull win another corner and as the ball comes out to Fabio Carvalho on the edge of the area the home fans shout for him to "shoooooot" again.

    No dice this time.

Furlong does not even get the best touch on it, barely touches it.

He heads it down and it creates an awful loop over the 'keeper.

    No-one on the post.

Sloppy set-piece goal for Hull to concede.

Well that Hull lead didn't last long!

It comes from a West Brom corner and Darnell Furlong gets the lightest of touches to send it downwards then bouncing up and over Hull keeper Ryan Allsop for the equaliser, and his third goal of the campaign.
