Arsenal's attack is on fire currently. Goal difference could be so important in this Championship. If this was a boxing match, it'd be stopped. Cricket, they'd declare.

I genuinely thought Sheffield United would have a proper go here but their passiveness has surprised me. It is an in-form Arsenal, but still...

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 29 mins

    Sheffield United 0-4 Arsenal

Jayden Bogle is shown a yellow card for a reckless challenge on Martin Odegaard.

There's a check by VAR to see if it should be a red, but the original decision stands.

In the build up to that Havertz goal, Anel Ahmedhodzic brutally threw Gabriel Martinelli to the floor as the Brazilian played a through ball for the German. A good advantage was played and Havertz scored.

It was ridiciculous behaviour from Blades captain Ahmedhodzic, and shows where his team's heads are right now.

A reminder that 9-0 is the record margin of Premier League victory, and that no Premier League side has ever scored double figures.

It is a reminder we seem to have to put out every time Sheffield United play.

This is turning into an absolute humiliation for Sheffield United and a masterclass from Arsenal.

We have seen this before at West Ham as some of the fans go home early.

    Kai Havertz

How many goals before half-time can be scored before time should be called early?

There's some half-hearted appeals for a foul on Anel Ahmedhodzic but nothing is given and Arsenal break forward, with Kai Havertz having time to pick his spot and arrow a shot into the back of the net.

    Four goals in 25 minutes.

Same old, Sheff Utd and newly promoted teams come up and go straight back down, to be replaced by last seasons relegated teams. Yoyo teams, something needs to change, pointless these same just in the PL holding up the table. Go down with a fight at least.

    Nemo

I can’t believe anyone is saying this Arsenal team doesn’t have a chance at the Premier League. Delusional, they are the best team in the world on current form!

    Adam

I'm not a Sheffield United fan, but the fans don't deserve this. The owners, coaching staff and players should feel embarrassed.

Sheffield United struggle to clear a ball into the box and Kai Havertz reacts quickly to a loose ball but his snapshot is straight at Ivo Grbic.

The Gunners have had 10 shots already.

James McAtee, always looking to create something for Sheffield United in often trying circumstances, has the Blades' first attempt on goal as he cuts in from the right and then has a pop from range, but the shot is well over.

You have to feel so sorry for Ollie Norwood. He was hardly at sole fault for the three early goals, but he is the fall guy as Chris Wilder shuffles his system like a sailor rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic.

This has to be up there with the earliest fans have left a match because of the scoreline.

The decision to play Auston Trusty at left-back to stop Bukayo Saka has blown up in Sheffield United's face - Saka has him on toast, beating him so easily for the second goal.

The way things are going they could have six before half-time.

Arsenal are cutting through Sheffield United with ease here as they come forward again, this time attacking down the left before Gabriel Martinelli drives home a low effort.

Barely two minutes between goals two and three.

    Jayden Bogle OG

This is quickly turning rather sour for Sheffield United.

Bukayo Saka is the architect as he bursts into the box before playing the ball across the face of goal and it deflects off the unfortunate Jayden Bogle and into the back of the net.

I’m calling it now, this game will beat the record for most goals scored in a PL game. Sorry Sheff Utd fans.

    Jim

I am so glad Rice is now filling that “Xhaka” role. It’s transformed the team from being so impotent in front of goal into an incredible goal scoring machine!

    Tom

This is the kind of game that might have been a banana skin for Arsenal last season. But with Declan Rice on the pitch they are a lot stronger mentally and it would be a massive shock if it's not a handsome victory tonight. That's the difference Rice has made.

Gustavo Hamer thumps the ball away to thwart an Arsenal attack down the right but the problem is there's no Sheffield United players advanced enough to try and retrieve it, so back comes the ball towards the Blades goal again.
