Only Dennis Bergkamp (September 1997) and Harry Kane (September 2017) have ever scored 2+ goals in three consecutive away appearances.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder on tonight's game: "It can't just be one way. We talked about that when we first walked in and the Liverpool one was the key one, we had to get that balance right. We can't just sit back for 95 minutes.

"They're massively in the title race, we understand that, but we're trying to dress it up as a cup match for us, an FA Cup tie. And I've said to the players if it was an FA Cup tie you'd have nothing to lose, let's go for it and give a good account of ourselves and put in a positive performance."

  4. 'We have a chance'published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

Chris Wilder is in typically bullish mood in his programme notes for tonight's game.

"It is 11 v 11 and, of course, we have a chance," he says, before pointing to some famous United wins over Arsenal in the past - Lys Mousset scoring the winner in 2019 during his Wilder's first spell in charge, and the December 2006 victory when the Blades finished with Phil Jagielka in goal.

If the Blades manage to find a win tonight, that would be an upset to top them all.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports.

On changes: “They [players] gave me a reason to do that. Every single day they train [well], but it was the right thing to start like this."

“The consistency we have shown and how strong we have been defensively with aggression there has been a lot of positivity going forward and we have generated a lot.

"We have also been patient as we have had to face teams that have a low-block.”

On Sheffield United: “They have made some changes, sometimes it happens during matches and we have to be adaptable on the day.

"It’s difficult, but you must be able to train as well."

On the title race: “You watch the games and at the moment I am hoping for results.

"The thing is we must continue the way we are doing and win football matches - we will see where it takes us.

"At the moment you have to win every single game and earn the right to win."

Chris Sutton takes on Sam McTrusty and Ross McNae from rock band Twin Atlantic as they predict the result for the game this evening.

Sutton, said: "Arsenal are wiping the floor with everyone in the Premier League at the moment. Like Liverpool and Manchester City, they can't afford any stumbles in the title race but I don't anticipate them having any problems winning at Bramall Lane.

"They are so superior to a Sheffield United side that lost 5-0 at the Emirates earlier in the season, when Eddie Nketiah scored a hat-trick, and they are also in excellent form.

"The Blades are not going to go toe-to-toe with Arsenal and their plan will just be to try to keep them out for as long as possible. If the Gunners score early, then it could be a difficult afternoon for Chris Wilder's side."

    Sutton's prediction: 0-3

    Sam's prediction: 0-4

    Ross' prediction: 0-5

  7. It could be worse, Blades fans...published at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

Sheffield United v Arsenal (20.00 GMT)

    Emma Smith
    BBC Sport at Bramall Lane

Tonight is something of a trip down memory lane for me, as it is the first time I have reported on a game at Bramall Lane since my university days in the early 2010s.

This included Sheffield United's dismal start to the 2013-14 season under David Weir, in which they fell to the bottom of League One after one win in their first 14 matches.

The point is, it could always be worse for Sheffield United fans. Although if they become the first English league side to lose four consecutive home games in all competitions while conceding five or more goals, it certainly won't feel like it.

  8. At the top...published at 19:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in brilliant form.

They have won their last six Premier League games, scoring four or more goals in four of those games, and they thrashed the Blades 5-0 when they met earlier in the season.

A win tonight will move them back to within two points of leaders Liverpool.

  9. At the bottom...published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

The picture is pretty grim for Sheffield United.

They are bottom of the table, 11 points from safety with 12 games to go and have have lost four of their last five matches.

Chris Wilder makes two changes to the Sheffield United team which was beaten by Wolves last Sunday.

Following months out with a thigh injury which required surgery, Tom Davies finally makes his first United start after joining from Everton in the summer.

Ollie McBurnie, who has scored in his last four home league games, also starts, as Yasser Larouci and Rhian Brewster drop out.

Sheff Utd XI: Grbic; Bogle, Ahmedhodzic, Trusty, Robinson; Norwood, Souza, Hamer, Davies; McBurnie, McAtee

Subs: Foderingham, Baldock, Brereton Diaz, Osborn, Arblaster, Larouci, Peck, Osula, Brooks

Arsenal's XI is unchanged from the side which beat Newcastle 4-1 last weekend.

Sheffield United pair Ben Brereton Diaz and George Baldock are back in full training and could make their return from injury against Arsenal.

Cameron Archer faces several weeks out with a calf issue, while Mason Holgate is serving a suspension.

Arsenal's Thomas Partey could make his first appearance since October after coming through training unscathed.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu will also be assessed and Gabriel Jesus could feature as well.

"He's fit enough, but knowing how long he will last is something different probably," said Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta of the Brazilian, who has been nursing a knee injury.

"Obviously we need him fit. He's a massive player for us and we want to make sure that now we load the players in the right way."

Jesus last played for Arsenal on the 30th January in the 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

There is no doubt that Arsenal are heavy favourites for this one - bookmakers have them as short at 1/8 to win here. Fans are confident too, with #prayforsheffield trending on X earlier.

But amid Sheffield United's dire season, some of their very best performances have come against top four contenders - narrow defeats at Bramall Lane against Man United and Man City, a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa before Christmas.

So while Arsenal fans will expect a repeat of the crushing 5-0 win we saw at Emirates Stadium, there is a slim chance they might not have everything their own way.

  14. Postpublished at 18:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

Sheffield United v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Good evening!

We've got a game tonight that will have a big say at both ends of the table as bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United host title-chasing Arsenal.

Even the most optimistic Blades fan is probably pulling out the map now and checking out Championship club destinations for next season.

'Super computers' are giving them a 99.6% chance of being relegated, but while it remains mathematically possible they are still in the fight.

It would take something special to beat an Arsenal side in brilliant form at the moment, but this is the stage of the season when unexpected results can happen.

  15. Upping the pressurepublished at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

We are at the stage of a Premier League season where the pressure is relentless.

For Arsenal, that relentlessness comes in the shape of the title race, with Liverpool and Manchester City both winning at the weekend leaving the Gunners with no margin for error tonight.

For Sheffield United, the pressure is against the clock, with time rapidly running out in their bid to preserve their Premier League status.

Who will handle that pressure best tonight?
