    Morton 2-0 Motherwell

It's all very flat from Motherwell.

Good work from Adam Devine though, who slides it into the box for Blair Spittal.

His cross is cleared for a corner. The set-piece goes out before it hits the box. Hmm...

It just seems like Morton have been able to get in behind Motherwell very easily.

I don't think Motherwell need to be so open - there is still 20 minutes to go. They just need to keep playing their game without over-committing.

    Nothing comes of the corner.

    Can Motherwell muster anything?

    Morton 2-0 Motherwell

Ooft, Morton get a two-on-two on the counter attack.

George Oakley tries to pick out Robbie Muirhead, but his cross is cut out.

Motherwell look exposed, and it's a Morton corner.

I can only imagine that drum is driving Al Lamont and Michael Stewart mad, given it's right beside them, but from the opposite stand, it's creating some buzz, so they can just get on with it.

There's a real feel good factor around this place, and there has been for a while. Doesn't seem like it'll be going away anytime soon, either.

    Morton 2-0 Motherwell

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts and Hibs midfielder on BBC Scotland

Theo Bair just doesn't look like he's determined enough to get on the end of the corner.

He has got to show the desire to get his head on that, it is a chance and Motherwell can ill-afford to pass these opportunities up.

It was a dangerous cross from Blair Spittal.

  9. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Morton 2-0 Motherwell

That's decent from Jili Buyabu, one of the Motherwell subs.

He gets down the left and smashes a low shot on target, but Morton goalkeeper Ryan Mullen makes a save.

    Morton 2-0 Motherwell

Stuart Kettlewell goes to his bench. Adam Devine and Jili Buyabu - two of the many wing-backs they have - are on.

Stephen O'Donnell and Georgie Gent make way.

Striker Jack Vale reaplces Davor Zdravkovski.

What a view I had of that. George Oakley is loving life. Gotta be confident to finish like that.

But, my goodness, what was that defending from Motherwell? Or rather, lack of it...

I've never heard Cappielow like this.

It is clinical. An absolutely brilliant finish but it is the poor touch from Paul McGinn that leads to it.

It is a fantastic finish and George Oakley puts his side in a great position to get through to the next round.

  13. goal

GOAL Morton 2-0 Motherwellpublished at 55 mins

    George Oakley

    A beauty.

Motherwell get caught in possession, and Oakley drives forward on to Cammy Blues' pass.

He drills a low shot through Callum Butcher's legs and into the bottom corner.

A lovely finish and this shock is seriously on. Although, would it be such a shock given Morton's form?!

    Morton 1-0 Motherwell

Stephen O'Donnell goes for an ambitious switch to George Gent, and his fellow wing-back can't bring it down.

There was loads of space for O'Donnell to run into. Not sure why he's forcing a long ball.

Motherwell have got to keep trying to play their game if they have any hope of beating this difficult Morton side.

This will be a test of character for the Premiership side.

Referee John Beaton brandishes an early yellow card to Morton left-back Lewis Strapp, who flopped to the deck when Paul McGinn entered his airspace.

    A clear dive.

I think it was a good old fashioned cup tie.

I think both sides have looked to be far too direct in certain moments in the game. Motherwell have not really got going, they have not got their key players into the game.

The nervousness among the Motherwell players is also increasing.
