Big day for Aaron Ramsdale who has been playing second fiddle to David Raya on the Premier League stage. Raya is ineligible to face his parent club so Ramsdale steps in for his first league start since 25 November.

Will Ramsdale keep his place with a top display?

It's doubtful. After helping Arsenal win 1-0 at Brentford earlier in the season, Ramsdale was replaced the next game.

  2. 'Brentford will stay up'published at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Arsenal v Brentford (17:30 GMT)

Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Final Score

Brentford are sort of stood still really. I think fans expected that when Ivan Toney came back after suspension that it would be a bit of an injection to their season.

It hasn't really taken off yet but I still think Brentford will have enough to steer themselves away from trouble.

  3. 'Arsenal are playing at absolute maximum'published at 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Arsenal v Brentford (17:30 GMT)

Thomas Frank on the challenge facing his Brentford players at Emirates Stadium: "Form-wise, momentum, Arsenal are right up there. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are ahead of the rest.

"Right now, maybe Arsenal are performing to the absolute maximum. But we trust ourselves, we believe in ourselves, and we know what we are about and what we can do.

"It is a hard season - every Premier League season is hard - but to be able to do that [stay up] with injuries and setbacks will be a fantastic result, which I am convinced we can do."

Is it going to be a case of wrong place wrong time for Brentford?

Having lost 10 of their previous 13 Premier League games, the Bees could certainly have done without a trip to free-scoring Arsenal.

Thomas Frank's side have lost nine top-flight games on the road this season.

They haven't won at Arsenal since 1938. To be fair, this is only the sixth time they have played their London rivals away since.

  5. 'Goals and guts'published at 17:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Bournemouth 2-2 Sheff Utd

    Chris Wise
Final Score commentator at the Vitality Stadium

Sensational character shown from both teams. For Sheffield United to respond to the Arsenal defeat with goals and guts, and for Bournemouth to relentlessly plough on to rescue a point from 0-2 down.

  6. 'One of the first names on the team sheet'published at 17:10 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

Right-back Ben White should extend his stay at Emirates Stadium at some point in the next month. Questions were asked about the £50m price tag when the defender joined from Brighton in 2021 but he is now one of the first names on the team sheet.

  7. Will Toney & White earn England recalls?published at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

Gareth Southgate is getting ready to name his latest England squad on Thursday.

Will there be room for Ivan Toney or Ben White?

It's a year since Toney made his one and only England appearance against Ukraine in a Euro 2024 qualifier. The forward has scored four times in eight Premier League games since returning from an eight-month ban for breaking FA gambling rules.

Has Gunners defender White done enough to earn a recall? He has not appeared for the Three Lions for two years but has played a pivotal role in Arsenal's title charge.

England play back-to-back Wembley friendlies against Brazil on 23 March and Belgium three days later. Their first game at Euro 2024 is 99 days away against Serbia on 16 June.

  8. Luton 'left it so late'published at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

It's brilliant for Luton fans isn't it and they almost hang their hat on the idea that they are going to score, you fancy them to score in the dying minutes.

They left it so, so late.

Arsenal have reached crunch time in their season, with two HUGE home games in the next few days.

An eighth successive league win will send them one point clear at the top of the table where they will stay on goal difference if Liverpool and Manchester City draw at Anfield on Sunday.

Then on Tuesday they will attempt to turn around a 1-0 first leg deficit against Porto in the Champions League.

Will Mikel Arteta's side keep their chase for a Premier League-Champions League double alive?

  10. Postpublished at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Thanks Gary, Emily and Joe!

Not loads and loads of goals so far today. Not to worry. Arsenal are about to take to the stage and they've been banging them in by the bucketload lately.

Right, stick with us for reaction to the 3pm games but time for us to hand over to Neil Johnston to build up to Arsenal versus Brentford.

  12. Palace 'thrown away two points'published at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

What frustrates the life out of me, watching this, Crystal Palace are pushing in injury time, taking shots, why not take it in the corner?

One nil, see the game out, three points.

They're in a relegation fight, they've conceded in the last touch of the game, they have thrown away two points.
