Not much to say about that. Disappointing attempt with Aaron Ramsdale not tested.

I'm not an Arsenal fan, but North London Forever is magnificent. We need that kind of emotion in football with how billionaire-centric it's become.

Playing before Liverpool and Manchester City this weekend Arsenal will be thinking about going top of the league. They can win the title, but are they favourites right now?

No. I think City are, then Liverpool and then Arsenal.

But it is getting so late and tight that this weekend could be the key moment - the gamechanger - that gives Arsenal the belief.

    The Chronicles of a Gooner

It is funny to think that just a few months ago Arsenal were considered huge outsiders, but a run of seven convincing league wins has most fans believing they have what it takes to go the distance.

What’s changed in 2024? The underlying data has looked good all season, but where most people opted to focus on the lack of a 25-goal-a-season striker, Mikel Arteta and his staff recognised the foundations for success were there.

Restoring confidence to Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli was key as well as the team’s efficiency in both boxes (if they let you get close to theirs that is) has made all of the difference.

The Arteta machine is in full flow. Whether it will be enough to spoil Jurgen Klopp’s farewell tour or knock Manchester City's Treble winners off of their perch remains to be seen.

But it is impossible to deny that currently the Gunners are on fire!

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "Gabby (Gabriel Martinelli) has not made it. Unfortunately he has got a cut on his foot and we are trying to get him back.

"This game is another opportunity to earn the right to win. Brentford perform really well against the big teams and are a really difficult side to beat. We have to play with the same energy and earn the right to win the game."

After the robbery of last season at the Emirates where Brentford were allowed an offside goal, Arsenal will wipe the floor with them this time. Scoring at least another four here.

  19. 'It's gutting to concede like that'published at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-1 Luton

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's frustrating, gutting to concede like that at the end of the game when we could have had three points. But we've got one, it was always going to be tough game against Luton but it's frustrating."

On whether conceding late goals is a phycological problem: "No of course not, its just the way football is. We need to work on it. It was a cross and a flick in and another day it goes wide. It's not a good one to add to that tally but its something we are working on to go in the right direction."

On not seeing out the game: "We had some good chances and their goalie made couple of great saves. At 1-0 there's always a risk of a goal at the end. Frustrating but we played well, and apart from goal we have to be happy with how we played."

What was David Raya actually *for*? Ramsdale is a top keeper. This seems to be a problem Arteta has conjured from thin air. Good luck today, Aaron.
