He chases absolutely everything. When a team is playing a back five and you do need to get out, he is such a lethal player to have running into those channels.

First yellow card as Pape Sarr wipes out Youri Tielemans. John McGinn's wide free-kick is then punched away by Guglielmo Vicario.

It's all getting a little feisty.

He looked offside Ollie Watkins the ball should have gone earlier.

If it went earlier he wouldn't have had a problem, but it's careless from Spurs!

They do play some super stuff Colin although it's Villa having the best of it at the moment.

Douglas Luiz plays in Ollie Watkins who goes through - he's offside surely?

We play on and Watkins chooses not too shoot, instead trying to square the ball to Leon Bailey but his pass is intercepted.

Fortunately for the forward, the flag does then go up. But why not take the shot Ollie?

Ever since Josh picked out Micky Van de Ven as signing of the season he's had a mini crisis. He gives the ball away and then concedes a needless free-kick on the halfway line, but Villa can't do much with it, passing the ball out of play.

It's like a masterclass in underlapping. Villa though are getting wise to it and starting to compact the midfield.

Back to the action and Yves Bissouma gives the ball away but it only results in Youri Tielemans having a shot blocked and Douglas Luiz overhitting a cross.

In this period of the game it's fascinating to see the way Tottenham play and the two fullbacks coming inside.

If you look at the position of Pedro Porro, trying to run in behind it's something you never, ever see from fullbacks. It's absolutely fascinating.

It's great to see live.

One man's timewasting is another's waiting for a teammate to become open.

Villa keeper Emiliano Martínez does take an age to take his latest goal kick, but I reckon at this stage there's no malice in it.

Tottenham look dangerous as Destiny Udogie curls in a cross which is just ahead of Dejan Kulusevski.

The Swede recovers well and dinks in his own ball which James Maddison can't head on target.

Josh_earl3: Van de Ven is arguably signing of the season. An absolutely brilliant young defender, and exceptionally quick.

Villa haven't really settled, they're trying to go forward a tad too much, giving Tottenham the ball back soon after winning it.

Patience lads.

Brilliant from Watkins, but then it's brilliant pace from van de Ven he has no intention of hurting Watkins and he makes a perfectly good challenge - Watkins just falls awkwardly.

Tottenham have started really well.

On the front foot, aggressive, trying to win the ball back high up the pitch.

You just look at the back four for Tottenham, they are actually over the halfway line.
