What an electrifying evening of European football.

Jude Bellingham scored twice as Real Madrid thumped surprise title challengers Girona to move five points clear at the top of La Liga.

And then Bayer Leverkusen underlined their Bundesliga title credentials with a resounding victory over Bayern Munich.

Oh dear. Eric Dier knocks a simple pass to his right-back out of play. It has been very much one of those night's for Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga in each of the previous 11 seasons.

Five minutes have been added to this match but to be honest Bayern look like they could play for another five hours and not score.

As it stands Bayer have a five-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga. Not pleasant viewing for Harry Kane and co.

He left Tottenham to win trophies, but on this evidence, winning the German top flight or the Champions League will be a major ask.

Almost a third for Xabi Alonso's side. The hosts have Bayern chasing all over the pitch before the ball is worked right to Jeremie Frimpong, who drags a low effort across the face of goal.
