Bayern have not existed in this game attacking wise but you can never write them off.

They only need one chance to score.

Jude Bellingham tries to whip in a third goal for Real, but his left-foot effort is high over the cross bar.

Still all the play that counts is at the right end of the pitch as far as the home side are concerned. Girona's last shot was taken by Artem Dovbyk inside the first 10 minutes.

    Real Madrid 2-0 Girona

Ukraine striker Artem Dovbyk, badly missed in Girona's 0-0 home draw with Real Sociedad last week had been joint-top scorer in La Liga with Jude Bellingham and Getafe's Borja Mayoral before kick-off.

The visitors could badly do with him adding to his tally now.

    Jude Bellingham

Just like in the reverse fixture earlier this season, Jude Bellingham gets on the scoresheet for Real Madrid.

The England midfielder now tops the La Liga goalscoring charts all by himself with 15 for the season.

And it is oh so simple, as he races on to Vinicius Jr's incisive pass, rounds Girona keeper Paulo Gazzaniga with ease and slots into an empty net with his left peg.

    Real Madrid 1-0 Girona

Jude Bellingham drags an effort wide from the edge of the box for the hosts.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are really putting Girona under pressure in their own half, and even when the visitors do beat the press the home players are sprinting back like their lives or the La Liga title depends on it.

Bayern have looked nervous. You can tell they aren't used to each other.

There's no rhythm in the back three.

The hosts smell blood and Bayern frankly look all over the place at the back.

Nathan Tella tests visiting keeper Manuel Neuer with a low shot and Florian Wirtz is there to follow up but his effort is blocked by Eric Dier.

    Real Madrid 1-0 Girona

Over in Spain Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham is down on the turf after a coming together with a Girona player in the box. Looks like he'll be fine to continue though.

Bayern were not organised after the quick throw in. Look at Stanisic's run from the back. Leverkusen were more switched on and were really clinical.

The BayArena is absolutely rocking now.

Germany midfielder Robert Andrich picks the ball up on the left and zips a cross through the legs of Dayot Upamecano.

And Josip Stanisic is at the back post to guide the ball into an empty net against his parent club.

Nathan Tella once of Southampton and Burnley is involved as Bayer have have a chance to get a shot in through Amine Adli, but that is easily saved by Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer.

At the other end Leon Goretzka swipes at a chance from the edge of the box and smashed the ball over the top.

    Bayer Leverkusen 0-0 Bayern Munich

In case you need a reminder this is how it stands at the top of the Bundesliga, where Bayer Leverkusen sit two points ahead of reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Xabi Alonso's side are the only side in the big five European leagues to have not lost a league match all season long, although it took a 90th-minute penalty from Exequiel Palacios in the reverse fixture in September to secure a 2-2 draw against Thomas Tuchel's team.

You can probably guess, who notched one of Bayern's goals that day.

Not a lot doing in Germany at present.

The hosts look set up to attack on the counter and as such appear happy letting Bayern stroke the ball around.

It is loud mind inside the BayArena..
