United get 'outplayed' in virtually every game they play, irrespective of score. Surely it's not tenable for TH to remain the manager next season?

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 88 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

Last throw of the dice for Brentford as they try to get the winner. Saman Ghoddos and Neal Maupay are sent on for Keane Lewis-Potter and Mads Roerslev.

  3. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

Ivan Toney, for a moment, looks to be racing through but he gets the ball trapped under his feet and then his pass inside the box is a tired one and Manchester United clear.

Khael Malik: Does anyone genuinely know what the tactics are for Manchester United at this point?

Ivan Toney volleys over from Bryan Mbeumo's delivery.

Brentford will be frustrated if they do indeed fail to score but they can take encouragement from this display. They've created so much.

Andre Onana makes a good save to deny an awkward cross before Brentford win corner number 14 of the game.

A shot on target for Manchester United - there haven't been one of those for a while - but Bruno Fernandes' strike is an easy save for Mark Flekken.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United make a double change for the closing stages as Mason Mount and Casemiro are on for Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 79 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

The woodwork again denies Brentford! This time Bryan Mbeumo flicks a shot against the bar.

This just feels like it isn't going to happen for the hosts. I've no idea how they haven't scored yet.

The thing I don't get about ten Hag is his in game management. Brentford have been in complete control since the 10th minute...so try and shift things round a little. Bulk up the midfield. Just do something!

    Jack, St Albans

I don't understand why so many Man U fans are still behind ten Hag. We play such average football, when many of these players have shown elsewhere they are much better than this. He has had long enough now that there should be some kind of progress, some kind of plan, anything really. Very typical performance so far, I really do wonder what goes on at training...

It looks initially on the replay as though Ivan Toney's hand is offside but the lines are needed to confirm it. No goal.

  13. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

Brentford think they have finally broken through as Ivan Toney volleys in superbly, but the flag is up quickly for offside.

VAR will of course have a check...

A familiar sight as Antony cuts inside from the right and aims an effort for the top corner but it is just wide.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

This will be a relief for Manchester United as Yoanne Wissa, who has been excellent, is replaced by Bryan Mbeumo. Mikkel Damsgaard is also on for Brentford, replacing Yehor Yarmoliuk.

  16. CLOSE!published at 72 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

Erik ten Hag is able to welcome Lisandro Martínez back from injury but is potentially losing another defender to injury as Victor Lindelof goes off.

That's both of Manchester United's starting centre-backs that have had to go off in this game.

Colin Reardon: Just when you think MUFC can't get any worse this season they put on a performance like this! Shameful!

Some more defensive injury concern for Manchester United as Victor Lindelof is down clutching his leg just as Brentford win their 12th corner of the game.
