It's a difficult situation for Kalvin Phillips. He has gone to West Ham who have got this cloud around the club, uncertainty with the manager and inconsistency with some performances. I felt he would have made the England squad had he stayed at Manchester City. He has got to get back in and prove his worth.

This time last year Kalvin Phillips had just played 90 minutes in England's 2-1 Euro 2024 qualifying win away to Italy and was getting ready to feature in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley for Manchester City.

Now he's struggling to get a starting place in West Ham's starting XI and - as it stands - is out of Gareth Southgate's plans for this summer's tournament.

Is there still time for him to make the plane?
