Pep Guardiola on facing Luton and chasing three trophies: "It's better to play every game knowing if you lose it is 'bye bye'. Human beings have a tendency to relax and see how nice we were and the many good things we have done in the past. If you behave every single day in that mindset you are not in that position that you are right now. I adore my players because I know how difficult it is."

There promises to be an excellent FA Cup atmosphere at Ewood Park tonight.

A crowd of more than 20,000 is expected, which will be only the third time that has happened at a Blackburn home game this season. The figure of 20,963 (for the visit of Leeds United on 9 December) is the one to beat if it’s to become their highest attendance of the season.

If it gets above 21,577 then it will be the highest crowd at Ewood Park for a football match since 27,600 were present for a League One promotion party against Oxford United on the final day of the 2017-18 season.

The always-excellent Newcastle support have travelled in huge numbers with them selling out their allocation of 7,500 to occupy both tiers of the Darwen End behind one of the goals.

The rain from early on has gone and it is a clear albeit very chilly, evening in Lancashire.
