    • This will be the first FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Leeds United since the 1970 final, which the Blues won after a replay. Chelsea have never lost in eight previous FA Cup games against Leeds (W5 D3).
    • Leeds have lost their past six away games against Chelsea, all in the Premier League. The Whites' last win at Stamford Bridge was in December 1999 (2-0).
    • Chelsea have progressed from 13 of their past 15 FA Cup fifth-round ties, failing only against Manchester City in 2013-14 and Manchester United in 2018-19, the latter of which was their most recent home defeat in the FA Cup.
    • Leeds are looking to reach the FA Cup quarter-final for the first time since 2002-03. They have been eliminated from this stage of the competition three times since then, including a 2-0 loss to Fulham last term.
    • Enzo Fernandez scored in both of Chelsea's FA Cup wins this season - netting in the third round against Preston and fourth-round replay at Aston Villa. The last player to score in each of the third, fourth, and fifth rounds of a single FA Cup campaign for the club was Pedro in 2016-17.

Highly unpopular opinion - Mudryk is great, but needs game-time to show it. He looked sharp against Liverpool. He’s just embroiled in the current toxicity at Chelsea. I’m betting on him to work it out.

Secretly hoping Chelsea “bottle” it again tonight. It might do them some good and finish the rest of the season strongly. Something needs to happen with this squad.

Kaiser Chiefs Simon Rix says "there's no reason" why Leeds can't beat Chelsea on Wednesday to reach the FA Cup quarter-final.

"In my heart we can easily beat Chelsea because we're in good form and we've scored loads of goals this year," he told the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet Podcast.

"There's no reason we can't give them a good game. They've had two less days rest but they've got loads of players, so it will be interesting to see who they play.

"If Leeds get at them early doors then they will have to be pushing us back."

Gary O'Neil is making a huge mistake not playing his strongest side. Two games away from Wembley with Coventry at home next round. Come on Gary, don't risk that by resting some of your best players.

Wolves were not too pretty against Sheffield United but they got the win anyway. Brighton, meanwhile, scored very late to stop me being right about Everton winning that game.

Both teams are in a situation in the league where you would hope they will go for it in the FA Cup, but I can see this game being quite cagey. I am backing Brighton, but it is going to be close.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-1

Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix's prediction: 1-0

This fixture has been a great away day for Brighton fans of late. They’ve headed home victorious from the last three visits here. I was on Match of the Day commentary back in August where Wolves were 4-0 down and completely outclassed after 55 minutes, with the game eventually finished 4-1.

Gary O’Neil’s clearly learned a lot from what was then just his second game in charge, and his team’s progression since speaks volumes to the job he’s doing. O’Neil’s not taking January's 0-0 draw at Brighton for granted, and still very wary of the threat Robert De Zerbi’s side will pose, describing him as an “outstanding manager” and “one of the best in the world” in his pre-match programme notes.

The August/September period is undoubtedly the best we’ve seen from Brighton this season. Since then the Europa League, injuries and their head coaches preference to regular rotate has led to inconsistent performances, and a lot of draws.

They certainly know how to turn it on in the FA Cup though, scoring nine goals across the previous two rounds. Granted five of those were scored by the absent Joao Pedro, but De Zerbi’s record in this competition is impressive. Including last year's run to the semi-finals, which ended in Wembley penalty shoot-out heart break at the hands of Manchester United, the Italian is still yet to lose an FA Cup match during normal and extra time.

  10. 'A day makes a big difference' - O'Neil on busy weekpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February

    Wolves v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

This is Wolves' second of three games in the space of one week.

They beat Sheffield United in the Premier League on Sunday and visit Newcastle on Saturday.

"The schedule isn't great for us," boss Gary O'Neil said. "A game on Sunday when we had an FA Cup game on Wednesday wasn't ideal. It means Brighton get an extra day's recovery on us.

"Going into Saturday's game against Newcastle, they get an extra day of recovery on us and the group is a small squad.

"It will be tested this week. I'm going to need to be really switched on and I've already had good conversations with the medical staff about how to use everyone.

"In a short turnaround, a day makes a big difference. Playing Saturday-Tuesday compared to Sunday-Wednesday, the lads would feel an awful lot better by the time Wednesday comes if they are playing Saturday.

"It doesn't mean it has to make a big difference on the game. We've played games where we've had less recovery and looked like the team with the most energy."
