They're bursting forward on the counter but Frank Onyeka cannot pick out a red and white shirt with his cross.

This has been such an impressive response by Brentford after shipping four goals against Liverpool. They've been disciplined and organised.

Manchester City are immediately on the attack. Oscar Bobb finds Phil Foden whose cross is cut out by the busy Mark Flekken. Moments later Kyle Walker goes down injured but it looks like he is going to be fine to carry on.

Pep Guardiola is getting increasingly irritated by what he thinks is Brentford time-wasting and generally slowing the game down.

He has sought out opposite number Thomas Frank for a couple of lengthy stares, grabbed the ball for a Brentford throw and chuntered at the fourth official for the time Mark Flekken was taking over a goal kick.

Another frustrating half for Manchester City.

And another booking. This time Ben Mee, a former City youth player, goes into the book for kicking the ball after the referee blew his whistle. A bit harsh that.

John Stones sends the impressive Yoane Wissa tumbling and referee Darren England reaches for his top pocket. That's the first caution of the match.

Mark Flekken has been excellent for the visitors with some crucial saves while that clearance off the line by Ben Mee has only added to the sense of frustration in the ground.

Another Brentford counter brought a bit of agitation from the home supporters, who are getting concerned at the scoreline.

Pep Guardiola did a few exaggerated calm down gestures to try and bring a more positive vibe into the stadium.
