That's what Ebony Salmon offers. She's already made the run so Maz Pacheco can go first time round the corner. A very direct player but it's great defending there from Arsenal.

    Promising attack from Villa.

Ebony Salmon darts in behind Leah Williamson, but her centre half partner Lotte Wubben-Moy is on hand to intercept the danger before the Villa forward can fire a shot towards goal.

Just over half an hour left to play at Meadow Park and despite some fleeting moments of creativity in this second half, Aston Villa have yet to truly test Manuela Zinsberger in the Arsenal goal.

    Great defending from Katie McCabe!

With Jonas he will be encouraging Arsenal to go and get more and more. It will give them the confidence to bring that into the league because goal difference is huge. They will see tonight as a chance to be ruthless and rack up the numbers.

    Almost a fifth for Arsenal!

Beth Mead swings a wicked ball into the box from the right hand side. Rachel Corsie clears ahead of Alessia Russo, and the ball falls to Stina Blackstenius mere yards out.

It seems as though the Swede will tap in for her fourth but the ball bounces off her foot and over the bar instead.

It's hard to see from that angle whether that's off or on. I think she knew it was going to be flagged offside but again we are seeing Arsenal punish Villa in the wide areas.

    Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

Frida Maanum with another chance to get her second goal of the game.

She jinks around two Villa defenders and into the box, but the quality of her shot doesn't match the run, and Anna Leat catches it comfortably in front of the Villa net.

    Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Sport

It's one of those where you won't stand and say the game is done and dusted. No manager is going to do that. But it's about giving a good account of yourselves and playing for pride now. It's a cliché, but go in to win the second half. You're 4-0 down against one of the best teams in the country and they are on it from minute one. It's difficult. If you can nick a goal and keep it at four then that will be seen as a sort of positive.

Can Aston Villa restore some pride and get themselves on the scoresheet in this next 45 minutes?

Simone Magill replaces Alisha Lehmann for the second half.

  19. Postpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    HT: Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

Given Aston Villa have conceded 12 more goals than they have scored in the Women's Super League this season, perhaps it is no surprise that their defensive struggles have been their undoing yet again this evening.

The real surprise tonight has been Arsenal's efficiency in front of goal. Manager Jonas Eidevall has made numerous calls throughout the campaign for his side to be more clinical.

Villa felt the full force of the Gunners' attacking might in the opening 45 minutes.
