I think there is going to be pure head loss [in the Aston Villa dressing room at half-time]. There is going to be frustration. You just have to get everything off your chest and come our fresh, on the same page and try and get a bit of pride back.

    Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

Three chances, three goals for the Swede.

Surely her best performance in an Arsenal shirt to date? Certainly her best and most efficient goalscoring display. It's been an exceptional first half for her.

  7. 'What a first half from Blackstenius'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Sport

We called it didn't we when she scored two in the first 10 minutes. There are defenders around her but Blackstenius is able to pick the ball up in between two or three and is able to be the first to connect with it. It's not good enough defending-wise from Aston Villa but what a first half from Blackstenius.

First half hat-trick for Stina Blackstenius!

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Sport

Corsie found herself in a really good position on the edge of the box. She picks her head up, does a lovely ink, clears the first defender. Hanson is coming in at the back post but McCabe does really well to track it and get her body in the way.

  10. Postpublished at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

    Another half chance for Villa.

Captain Rachel Corsie finds herself on the edge of the box and sends a cross towards the back post.

Kirsty Hanson looks favourite to latch onto it and head towards goal but Katie McCabe is able to get a foot in to thump the ball clear.

It's good patient build-up play from Aston Villa. They broke down that left hand side with Kirsty Hanson who has been their real threat this half, but you've only got Rachel Daly busting a gut. You need more players to commit.

  13. Postpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

Corner for Villa taken out on the left hand side by Kenza Dali.

The ball in is a dangeroys one but Lotte Wubben-Moy rises highest to head clear for Arsenal.

Villa look to sustain momentum of the attack but a foul from Alisha Lehmann on Beth Mead disperses the danger.b

You've got to have players that are comfortable playing out from the back. You have to be clever and not invite pressure from Arsenal which is definitely what you don't want at this stage of the game.

  15. Postpublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

Where do Villa go from here?

They didn't start too badly in all fairness but three goals from three shots on target for Arsenal has taken the tie away from them.

  16. Postpublished at 19:46 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

Solid defending from Kirsty Hanson on the cover for Villa down the left hand side of defence to deny Katie McCabe from reaching the by-line.

The relief doesn't last long for the visitors though as the hosts' high press sees them win the ball back almost instantly.

  17. Postpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

A rare period of possession for Villa, who work a throw in wide on the left through the middle and out to Jordan Nobbs on the right.

She tries to beat her defender but Arsenal easily re-claim the ball and begin building out from the back once again.

  18. Postpublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

Arsenal break forward once again into the Villa box, Kyra Cooney-Cross taking a chance to get high up the field from her holding midfield role.

Thankfully for the visitors Dan Turner is on hand to clear the ball off the Arsenal midfielder and earn her side a goal kick.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

    Almost four!

Katie McCabe takes aim from a free-kick on the edge of the box, the ball flies over the wall and crashes off the top of the bar.

Looked like Anna Leat got a hand on that but Villa have been awarded a goal kick.

  20. Postpublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March

    Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

Arsenal are just toying with Villa now.

Lia Walti is running the show in midfield, dictating the tempo just behind the forward line, who look like they are going to score with almost every attack at the moment.
