    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

After switching flanks with England teammate Chloe Kelly, Lauren Hemp tries to break down the left hand side.

Eve Perisset is wise to the winger's intentions though and cuts the ball out before she can get any further.

It's the end of Mayra Ramirez' night - the physios deemed her fit to continue, but Emma Hayes isn't taking any risks.

Ramirez had been running a little bit gingerly since returning to action and went down once more a couple of minutes ago.

Aggie Beever-Jones is on in her place. How will that change Chelsea's strategy? Ramirez' physicality has been a focal point for Hayes' side so far.

Amazing that Chelsea have so many injuries and yet are still performing as they are

It is a blow. But it's an opportunity for Beever-Jones. A young, talented English player coming on in a games like this. With Ramirez going off, it's unfortunate for her but it opens the door for someone else.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

After going down once again with some discomfort, Mayra Ramirez will no longer be able to continue.

She is replaced by youngster Aggie Beever-Jones, with Emma Hayes unwilling to take any risk of further injury.

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Man City go on the attack as soon as play re-starts.

First Jess Park looks to drive up field before she is crowded out on the edge of the Chelsea box.

Then the ball breaks to Yui Hasegawa who takes aim from distance, but her speculative shot is caught comfortably by Hannah Hampton.

It's not entirely clear what the issue was with Mayra Ramirez.

It was completely off the ball, she wasn't running with any real pace, but went down holding her leg.

She's back up, though, and fit to return to action.

Both managers take advantage of the pause in play to gather their teams and issue some fresh instructions.

Mayra Ramirez is back up and seems able to continue for Chelsea.

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

A worry for Chelsea as new forward Mayra Ramirez has gone down needing treatment.

The referee pauses play so that the physios can come onto the pitch.

  10. Postpublished at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

City build forward once again, looking to build down the left hand side this time with Chloe Kelly and Leila Ouahabi.

Chelsea defend the situation brilliantly though, shutting down any space that City are attempting to work in, before Eve Perisset shephards the ball out for a goal kick.

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Man City have struggled to build up a head of steam since the Chelsea opener.

They've shaded the possession as expected, holding 53% to Chelsea's 47%, but they have lacked that cutting edge and energy with which they started the game.

  12. 'Park quiet in opening stages'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

We've not said Jess Park's name yet in this game. I think she's having a great season but is very quiet in the opening stages. The first time we really see her she has lots of grass in front of her and just plays the wrong ball into open space. Khadija Shaw is nowhere near it and it's needlessly given away.

  13. Postpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

A first foray forward through the middle for Jess Park, but she is crowded out and the ball runs through to Chelsea stopper Hannah Hampton.

Park has made the most of her opportunity to have a run of games in the City side since the unfortunate ACL injury suffered by Jill Roord in January, but has been rather quiet so far tonight.

  14. 'Tactically they have got it spot on'published at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Emma Hayes will be really pleased with the start. Tactically they have got it spot on making it difficult for City to play in the midfield and hit them on the counter. They know that Hasegawa is the creative player that will find the passes for City.

  15. Postpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

So far so good for Chelsea.

They set out to sit off City and capitalise on any opportunity that their hosts might give away, and that plan has worked to perfection so far.

Then again, when you have someone with the finishing quality of Lauren James in your side, it normally only takes one chance to pay off.

  16. Postpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

City build forward once again through the combination of Kerstin Casparij and Lauren Hemp.

The England forward tries an inswinging cross from the right of the box, but Hannah Hampton is on hand to claim ahead of Khadija Shaw.

  18. CLOSE!published at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Nearly an equaliser for Man City through Lauren Hemp, and what a goal it would have been!

She cuts in from the right hand toucline, jinks past several Chelsea players into the box and takes aim at the far top corner.

She is off balance as she strikes the shot though and it skews wide of the far post.

  19. CLOSE!published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    Another golden chance for Chelsea!

City over play it in their own box again, goalkeeper Khiara Keating the guilty party this time.

The Chelsea high press leads to an opening for Sjoeke Nüsken, but Laura Coombs on the cover deflects the ball out for a corner.

That's come from Man City giving possession away in central midfield. Lauren James has a shot and I thought she scuffed it initially, I didn't think she hit it cleanly. It takes a deflection off Alex Greenwood. I think that has just taken it into that near post. It's hard with that deflection. Against the run of play a little bit Chelsea have taken the lead.
