The expectation within Rangers fans seems to grow game on game - and no wonder given the run they are on.

Philippe Clement keeps finding ways to deliver three points. His record is outstanding since taking over and that has bred absolute faith in his methods, and the team, from the stands. That helps.

Motherwell have a long record to break if they are to beat Rangers today but will take heart from running them close last time here - albeit against a very different team - and recent close encounters against Celtic.

The Livingston boss is as relaxed as could be and is still confident that if his team are even six points behind come the split, they'll be in with a fighting chance.

Rangers winger Oscar Cortes has picked up a "longer term" injury that could require surgery, manager Philippe Clement has told the club on X.

The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Lens with an option to buy, went off injured against Kilmarnock in midweek.

"Oscar has an injury and will be a longer time out," Clement said.

"We have also been in contact with Lens, as it is not just a decision for us, so that's a blow for him, the team and all of us."

Clement, speaking before Rangers' home match against Motherwell, added: "It is a really strange one with the action that he did to have a severe injury like that, but we need to look at that in the next couple of days what to do with it - operation or not.

"It is frustrating because we want to build further with him as he was doing good things."

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell is hoping to continue his side's good performances against the Old Firm.

"What we have found is a reasonable formula to be organised and be hard to play against," he told BBC Scotland.

"On the flip side, I think we have also always carried a threat and always been able to create opportunities against the likes of Rangers and Celtic and I thought we were very good earlier in the season when we lost here 1-0.

"But Rangers are better than they were then and we have to up our levels."

Meanwhile, Kettlewell reveals that he had planned to start Georgie Gent but had to reshuffle his side when the on-loan Blackburn Rovers defender took ill.

Dundee have successfully navigated their way through the challenges that life back in the Scottish Premiership has presented.

The latest one for manager Tony Docherty will be to ensure that there is no lasting hangover from a chastening 7-1 defeat at Celtic Park.

A key to that may be to accentuate the positives, his side sitting sixth while this is the first of three consecutive home games.

It is already proving to be a memorable campaign for Kilmarnock - flying high in fourth spot, with Europe very much in their sights.

There’s been one Killie win and two draws in the three meetings this term. Oh and plenty of goals, so hopefully that sets the scene for another entertaining encounter.

At the wrong end of the table, Livingston are on a horrible run of 10 away defeats in the Premiership.

The West Lothian side last lost 11 on the bounce on their travels in season 2005-06 when they finished last by a distance.

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "Greg [Stewart] has been managing a little groin issue, we've decided to rest him for a few days. It's nothing too significant. Stu [Findlay] failed a fitness test this morning, just a bit of tightness in his hamstring.

"We'd like him, he's played every minute for us, but we go without him. We're lucky to have Robbie [Deas] back, the timing is good. We looked at other changes, we've had two big games, but there's a lot to be said for the last four performances.

"It would have been an unchanged team for the fourth time in a row, had Stu been fit.

"Nobody knows how many points you need at this stage, but we have a rough idea of what will get us there. Dundee are a good team with their own aspirations to get top six. This is a tough game for us, but if we want to be a top six team we have to show ourselves in these types of games."

Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery explains why he has picked the same XI for the third game in a row.

"The boys who are playing at the minute deserve to be in the team," he tells BBC Scotland. "They're fit and recovered and nobody wants to lose their place in the team.

"We've built since the window and everyone has got back fit. The boys know they've got to be 100% and ready to go.

"It's about us today at Easter Road. They've had a decent run recently, they have a new manager and you can see they work hard for each other.

Ross County manager Don Cowie explains the absence of Simon Murray, who has scored nearly a third of his side's league goals.

"Simon Murray is unwell unfortunately," Cowie told BBC Scotland.

"He's picked up a bug. Jack Baldwin, our captain and leader is back and I'm hoping his experience and knowledge will help us in a very difficult game.

"Results help belief. The first two games I saw enough despite losing. In the next two we've turned them into points, and we need to build on that."

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Scotland: "Very simply, it's one of the most important games [of his tenure]. We've got 10 games to go. There's been a lot of adversity and negativity this season.

"We come here and need to try and pick points up. I'm not saying the boys are fragile, but when you've at the bottom of the league, it's difficult. Your confidence and self-esteem takes a bit of a knock.

"See matchday 33, if we're there or thereabouts, I think we've got a very, very good chance. We just need to make sure we're in that mix.

"If it's three points, six points, or if we're level with someone, we need to be as close to them as possible so we have a fighting chance going into the last five games of the season."
