Maybe a chance for United now, with a free kick near the right corner flag after a rash Ibrahima Konate foul.

No, it is looped too close to Kelleher who makes an easy catch.

If Darwin's not an agent of chaos, the term has no meaning.

Captain chaos to the rescue. Flood gates will open now.

Grbic is a Liverpool fan, it’s the only explanation.

I don't know what Ivo Grbic is doing.

He gets the back pass, he then take one touch then three steps back with no urgency at all. It is ridiculous and Grbic gave himself no chance at all.

    Darwin Nunez deserves the goal.

    Liverpool 1-0 Sheffield United

Even Joe Gomez is in on the act!

The defender, who has never scored in senior football, takes aim from 20 yards and sends a low left footed drive narrowly wide.

The flood gates are not open, but they are creaking worryingly.

    Liverpool 1-0 Sheffield United

Darwin Nunez somehow manages to bludgen his way through a crowd of yellow shirts in the United area and get away a left-footed shot.

It lacks power and Ivo Grbic makes a tiny amount of amends with a low save.

That’s shocking. Nunez was so far away when the keeper received the ball. All the time in the world and he still wanted more.

I am watching Chris Wilder and he just did a big sigh, there is not much you can do about that.

Ivo Grbic has been good since he came, but that is out of nothing and it's an absolute gift.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League as it stands. Thanks to Darwin Nunez's bum.

    Oh no, Ivo Grbic.

Just as I praised the United defensive solidity, a goalkeeping error hands Liverpool the lead.

Grbic waits too long to make a clearance, he is charged down by Nunez and the ball hits the Uruguayan on the backside and bounces in.

    A horror show.

    Liverpool 0-0 Sheffield United

The last Sheffield United game I covered - against Arsenal - they were 3-0 down by this point.

The Blades are already sitting very deep, but look much more solid than they did that night at Bramall Lane.

Liverpool need to vary how they get the ball into the box because of how many Sheffield United put in front of the ball.

    Liverpool 0-0 Sheffield United

A Liverpool free kick is pinged into the Sheffield area, it comes back to Mo Salah on the edge of the area.

Salah has scored many of these in red, but this time sends his effort well wide.

Steve: That's it, 2 chances for Sheffield United in the first 90 seconds, they won't see the goal again for the next 90 minutes.

A spell of Liverpool pressure around the United box, including Luis Diaz having a shot blocked.

The pressure is lifted when Conor Bradley sends a wayward cross far too hard and long.

  16. 'A must-win game'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 4 April

Chelsea v Man Utd (20:15 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to TNT Sports about making no changes: "I think to restart the starting 11 is good to keep the consistency.

"I think the main thing is to be aggressive and consistent then during the game it is important to get the right balance."

On Malo Gusto starting: "It was in doubt, but in the last few days he has improved a lot and it is good to have the same starting 11 to give them [players] confidence and to see if we have the capacity to improve on our performance.

"We know it is a must-win game if we want to reduce the gap I think it is important to win and get the three points."

Sheffield United, as would have been expected, have settled into a solid 4-4-2 with 11 men behind the ball when Liverpool are in possession.

After a slightly frantic opening, that may be the pattern we see this game settle into.

From the resulting set piece, Darwin Nunez gets his head to the cross but cannot guide the ball on target.

A very good tempo to this game so far.

A first good chance for the hosts.

United keeper Ivo Grbic makes an unconvincing punch from a cross, it falls to Mo Salah who tries to chip into the net.

Credit to Grbic, he recovers well to tip the effort over the bar.
