Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
This is nice and open. Just how we like it.
Another chance for Timo Werner but he makes a real mess of it after failing to get a clean contact from just seven yards out.

Newcastle playing a back 5 shows that they are weary of the threat that Spurs pose on the attack. Times have changed since that 6-1 thrashing. I’m predicting a 3-1 Spurs win.

Now a goal-bound attempt by Timo Werner but it's unintentionally blocked by team-mate Son Heung-min. It wouldn't have counted anyway had it found the net as the offside flag was up.

Spurs fans like Jon are so delusional it’s funny. Spurs haven’t had to contend with Europe like the top 3 have and are still well behind.

Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Newcastle's fans are out of their seats. Harvey Barnes is allowed to drive into the box unchallenged before the ball is put behind. That's Newcastle's fifth corner already. We've only been going 15 minutes or so.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Brennan Johnson looks like he is really settling into life at Tottenham.
That was a great pass to present Timo Werner with a big chance earlier.
Johnson has seven Premier League assists since arriving from Nottingham Forest in September.
That should have been number eight.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Now a header for Harvey Barnes from another corner. It sails behind.
Promising start by both teams.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Now half an opening at the other end as Anthony Gordon finds Harvey Barnes who cannot find the space to get a shot away inside the Spurs box. The ball is put behind for a corner.

I’m not sure we’re “so far” behind the top 3 to be honest with you. We’re only 11 points back from top (we’ve only been closer to the top this late in the season twice in the premier league… which is depressing) and if you take the four match spell where we had completely makeshift sides we’d probably be more like 6 fewer points off the top. Not bad for a first season! Also unbeaten against any of the top three so far having more than matched them in those games

Big chance for Timo Werner.
Great vision by Brennan Johnson to find the German unmarked inside the box but Werner volleys it high and wide.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Now Tottenham are enjoying their first sustained period of possession. They're spraying it around with confidence and Destiny Udogie wins his side a corner.
It's taken short and James Maddison whips it into the box before it is scrambled clear.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Eddie Howe talked pre-match about his side making a fast start. They've won two corners in the opening four minutes or so. Neither came to anything.

This fixture always delivers entertainment! It could easily be any high score by full time(3-2 , 3-3 etc). Just on Eddie Howe, his injury list keeps getting longer and longer but unlike Poch or ETH at United he doesn't constantly moan about it or use it as an excuse .
David, Leyton
Must win for Spurs today with City, Arsenal and Liverpool to come over the next month.
Dan, Swindon
Son will be licking his lips after seeing that Newcastle defensive line-up! Take your pick Sonshine!

Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
First threat of dangers comes from Newcastle as Anthony Gordon's delivery is hacked clear. Now, Newcastle has the game's first corner.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
Early touches for both keepers.
It could be a busy afternoon for both Martin Dúbravka and Guglielmo Vicario.
There has not been a 0-0 between these two clubs since 1971.
Newcastle 0-0 Tottenham
It's the visitors who get the game under way.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe: "I admire Tottenham tactically; I admire them physically. A lot of credit must go to Ange Postecoglou for the job he has done and the philosophy he has implemented. I think they have played very well this season."
