  1. 'All we can do is win our games'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Man City 5-1 Luton

    Manchester City

Man City's boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to MOTD: “Not surprised at all, I know them [players who featured who are not regulars].

“You can not play the same people it is impossible, the three guys [Rúben Dias, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol] who played in Madrid they were incredible.

"It is a privilege to be here after many years to compete for the competitions."

On Luton: "How many chances could we not score. It was not easy, but in the games you have to close it [out].

"More [chances], more and more then you don’t win. We were patient and we didn’t concede much."

On Josko Gvardioal and Mateo Kovacic: "What a connection we have!

"Josko with the right foot is unbelievable, he feels more confident with the right foot - when he attacks inside he is a threat.

“Now he is a much better player and he doesn’t lose balls, at the beginning he lost balls.

    "Incredible guys [Gvardioal and Kovacic]

"Everyone has permission to score and it’s so important."

On being at the top of the table: "For a few hours.

"Tomorrow they have to play, all we can do is win our games and if we cannot do it we congratulate them.

"All you have to do is win games and we will try game by game."

Justin Kluivert almost wriggles past Harry Maguire but the England centre-back manages to poke it back to Andre Onana.

Bournemouth are pressing high at the moment.

  3. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Man Utd

A really encouraging start by Bournemouth. United give it away inside their own half. Ryan Christie plays a one-two with Dominic Solanke but doesn't take the shot on when he has the chance.

  4. 'Please don't do that to me again'published at 17:36 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Sheff Utd

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank, speaking to MOTD: "It feels so good. Nine games we've been without a win and I've just been saying to the lads 'please don't do that to me or yourself again'.

"Everyone was talking about finals. I didn't do that about this game. It was not a final but this is so important. Today was not through the roof but I think it was a good performance.

"This has definitely been the most challenging season. Injuries, actually performing quite good, Ivan's been banned...all of that. It's been tough but it just reminds you why it is the best league in the world. It's so difficult."

  5. 'Another point that takes us to 43 which is a good tally.'published at 17:36 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil speaking to PLP: "It was a good game, a hard fought game. You can see Forest are probably in a stronger moment than us with the way they finished the game, but a draw is probably a fair result. Forest will be disappointed not to win it late on at home with the territory they had, although they did not test Sa too much.

"The two goals we gave away were disappointing. Jose Sa will be disappointed with the first goal, a soft header into the middle of the net, I think the bounce deceived him slightly. That shouldn't result in a goal in a Premier League game. Second goal comes out of nothing. Long ball we don't deal with.

"We are very, very patched up. If you look at where we end up at the end of that game, with young players who have yet to do a professional loan, Traore playing as a right back, Chan having to play in a few positions having just come back. We worked hard and take a point away from home.

"We've got Cunha on limited minutes, probably pushed him a little over what he should have played today. Chan as well. Dawson is playing through some pain at the minute so may undergo some sort of surgery this week to help him. Semedo's hamstrings tightened up at the end, Sarabia was exhausted too.

"A really patched up group that gave everything today, showed menatality and courage. Another point away from home that takes us to 43 which is a good tally. There's a lot to piece together at the moment, which is why every points feels like a hard earned one."

    Bournemouth 0-0 Man Utd

Willy Kambwala does well to block Luis Sinisterra's way into the box after a nice ball down the line by Marcos Senesi. He wins a goal kick for United in the end.

  7. 'We didn't deserve to win'published at 17:33 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"Fair result. We didn't deserve to win and we didn't deserve to lose. I think in this moment Brighton are like this. We are trying to play better, we are trying to win but it's clear we are spending a tough moment. We have a lot of injuries, we have many points to the European position. It has been a tough season for the players who played a lot of games - Gross, Van Hecke, Dunk, Welbeck and we are trying to give our best but at the moment it's tough."

On Pervis Estupinan injury: "It's an ankle problem we will see in the next days [how serious]."

On fortunate goal: "I can speak about our goal it was a short pass, too short pass from Carlos Baleba to the keeper. The keeper was maybe too deep and Baleba is playing very well but he's very young. We have to give him time to be better and play better. He is a good potential player, important for the future of the club and next season I think he can become better."

On 12-day break until next match: "I hope we can recover as many players as we can but I'm not a doctor, it's tough for me to be a coach. We have to play with pride, we fought for the ball. We started the first 20 minutes not so good but the last 70 we played a good game."

Prince: Bournemouth will miss Semenyo with his pace and the width he provides. But they are a well-coached side so I expect them to do a double over United.

  15. 'No fear about relegation'published at 17:27 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Brentford 2-0 Sheff Utd

    Brentford

Brentford's Mathias Jorgensen, speaking to MOTD: "It's been a while since we had a win even though we feel like we have performed very well. Without being way better than them, we were the better team. From our side, it's a deserved win.

"We have felt a bit unlucky throughout the season so it was very good to see it go our way today. For the confidence boost, we need the three points. Sometimes you just need a bit of luck to get the three points.

"It was the right time to get the win before the last five games. There's not any fear in the squad about relegation Obviously we're aware we have not been too far away from it and anything can happen but we will take it one game at a time."

This is the third away game in a row for United, where it’s not possible to take a post-match train back to Manchester. (Cue the highly original and hilarious comments about all United fans being from Surrey etc.) The Premier League continues to show it doesn’t care about match-going fans.

  18. 'A patched up group on the road'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Yeah I think a draw is probably a fair outcome. They had more shots and territory, we had more of the ball. Probably a fair result, I am guessing Forest will be disappointed. They had some late pressure without troubling Jose Sa too much.

"We gave them the first goal really, a really poor goal. Even where it goes in, middle of the goal, Sa will be disappointed to have not saved it. Soft header. On the balance of it. Lots of stuff I did like and other stuff we need to improve on, but we know that. So not much else to it.

"We are getting back to where we should be player wise but it is so tricky at the minute to manage the group. You've got Cunha who can play 65 minutes ish, then Channy who can play half an hour... Nelson was absolutely shattered, feeling his hamstrings tightening up a bit. We've got Traore playing right back for the last minutes. Two kids coming on late on who haven't even had a professional loan yet but are getting minutes.

"In terms of fight and resilience and bravery, the lads showed a lot of that We showed some quality but we need to improve, teams know that we don't have much of a threat in behind at the minute.

"A positive day for us. A patched up group on the road in the Premier League and we take a point with us."

  20. 'It will not knock us' - Edwardspublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 13 April

    FT: Man City 5-1 Luton

    Luton Town

Luton boss Rob Edwards, speaking to Match of the Day: “It proved to be [a difficult game].

“A long afternoon, the longest game of football I have ever had.

“We are really depleted at the moment, it was a difficult afternoon for us. The players gave everything and we didn’t get off to the best of starts.

“A great save for Thomas and then a deflected volley off Daiki Hashioka's head. They wore us down in the end but I cannot fault the players – it is done.

“We now have five huge games that we can get ourselves out of it, we almost have to write this off.

“They scored three worldies, there was lots of shots and Thomas had to make some saves.

“We kept going and they got the last couple later on when they wore us down. The players never dropped their heads and we wont accept that. What gives me belief is our fans right with us till the end and we are going to need them."

On injury concerns: “We have one fit centre-back at the moment. To go up against City it was always going to be difficult.

“One of our strongest strengths we have such a together group and the spirit is there. It is the biggest defeat we have had this season.

“It will not change how we feel we will learn from it and it can make us better at a group – it will not knock us.

“We want to come to places like this and we want to come next year. We are in with a good chance of doing that . It’s learning from it and taking some of the positives - there was a few."
