  2. 'Enough chances to win three games'published at 16:32 British Summer Time 14 April

    FT: Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson to Sky Sports on why the Reds have been so wasteful recently: "It's been the story of the last few games and that's why we have been punished in these games. We are struggling to keep clean sheets right now. I don't know how many we have had in the last 10 or 15 games but it won't be many. When you do that you have to take chances. As simple as that.

"The boys in front of goal have to do better. But the boys at the back, as defensive unit as a whole, we have to do better. Which isn't great thing for success So frustrating today. So many chances. First half I thought we were poor and they were in top and could have been more than 1-0 up. Second half we had enough chances to win two or three games."

John McGinn sends an effort from the edge of the area straight into the back of Leandro Trossard's head. The Arsenal man needs a moment to compose himself but he's fine to carry on.

Away we go in our final game of the weekend. Manchester City did their job, Liverpool left the door open, what will Arsenal do?

Arsenal v Aston Villa (16:30 BST)

I wonder if Arsenal watched that Liverpool game? Teams always say they don't pay attention but, not sure about that.

Either way, the Gunners know what they need to do here.

  6. 'Aston Villa don't have to win today'published at 16:28 British Summer Time 14 April

Arsenal v Aston Villa (16:30 BST)

    Rachel Corsie
Scotland and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

If Aston Villa don't finish in the top four, they won't look back and say a defeat to Arsenal is the reason. If there was going to be a game in the next six where they maybe don't turn up, it wouldn't be the worst thing if it was today.

  7. Update on Earthy injurypublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 14 April

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Fulham

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports, on George Earthy's injury: "It's been a head injury, he is awake and on his way to hospital. His first three or four touches were terrific, really disappointed for the boy. He has been doing ever so well in training. We will all look after him."

  8. Pick of the statspublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 14 April

Arsenal v Aston Villa (16:30 BST)

    • Arsenal have won five of their past six home Premier League games against Aston Villa, losing the other 3-0 in November 2020.
    • Villa are unbeaten in their past nine Premier League away games against London sides (W6 D3), having lost eight of their previous nine before this. It is their longest run without defeat in the capital in their league history.
    • The Gunners have won 10 of their past 11 Premier League games, scoring at least twice in each victory. They have conceded just four goals across these 11 games, though three of those have been at Emirates Stadium.
    • Villa have caught their opponents offside 142 times in the Premier League this season, which is more than 40 more than any other side - and only Manchester City (33) have been flagged offside themselves less often than Unai Emery's side (38).
    • Bukayo Saka has been involved in 11 goals in his past 11 league appearances, scoring nine and assisting two. One more goal would see him become the first English player to score 15 in a league campaign for Arsenal since Ian Wright in 1996-97 (23).
    • Ollie Watkins has been involved in 11 goals in his past 10 league games (nine goals, two assists), and seven in his past four away from home (five goals, two assists). His 18 goals this season is the second most by an Aston Villa player in a Premier League campaign, after Christian Benteke (19 in 2012-13).
  9. 'A great win'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 14 April

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was a great win. We knew what we missed in some moments and gave feedback to the players. Well deserved, we played really good football, some very good moments, fantastic transitions and we were the team that deserved to win.

"It is imporant when you score early in the game. Something that has been key for us this season, when we have scored first we ahven't lost yet in the Premier League.

"After we started to play our game we had some very good moments and the second half it was even more clear we were the best team on the pitch."

  10. 'Villa are right in the mix'published at 16:22 British Summer Time 14 April

Arsenal v Aston Villa (16:30 BST)

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Aston Villa arrive at this match as underdogs in this match, which is different because in a lot of games this season they have been favourites. They've got players like Diaby and Bailey who can cause problems and as times they won't see a lot of the ball.

Villa are right in the mix. They are fourth and for a time we were talking about them as title contenders because they were only three points behind. They will think Tottenham are not better than them and they will think they can get fourth.

For them, games like today are ones where they have to be able to deal with it to stay up there. I'm looking to seeing how they approach today.

  11. 'I felt like I was out there for a year' - Hendersonpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 14 April

    FT: Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson to BBC's Match of the Day: "100%. Coming to places like this, you know you're going to be busy. I'm delighted to be back this time around, it's a team effort, I'm delighted.

"The amount of blocks, passes across, blocks. They made save after save for me, I had to make saves as well.

"I felt like I was out there for about a year, we rode our luck at times but I'm delighted.

"I think the lads believed we could do something today on the coach today, the pressure was on them. If we play our stuff and once bodies come back, with what the manager has got us doing, we will be playing good stuff.

"I feel good this time around, I feel fit and I've got a smile on my face."

  12. 'Too much at stake for Arsenal'published at 16:18 British Summer Time 14 April

Arsenal v Aston Villa (16:30 BST)

    Chris Sutton's predictions graphic

Arsenal got a bit of criticism for their performance against Bayern Munich in midweek but I didn't think they were that bad.

You can't be dismissive of Bayern with the players they've got and if Bukayo Saka had gone for goal at the end of the game rather than chucking himself into Manuel Neuer, Arsenal would have won. I don't know what Saka was thinking there.

This is another tricky game for the Gunners with former boss Unai Emery returning to the Emirates. Aston Villa beat them before Christmas and they are very dangerous coming forward.

Villa have definitely got a goal in them, but I don't think they are going to outscore Arsenal. There is too much at stake now for Mikel Arteta's side, and the Premier League leaders have too much to lose.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

This was Crystal Palace’s first Premier League win away from home since November against Burnley, ending their 10-match winless run on the road (D4 L6).

In their 1-0 win over Liverpool today, Crystal Palace became the first side since Fulham in March 2021 to beat the Reds at Anfield whilst keeping a clean sheet.

This was Liverpool’s first Premier League defeat at Anfield since October 2022 against Leeds; the Reds were unbeaten in 28 home league games prior to today (W22 D6).

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham goalscorer Andreas Pereira, talking to Sky Sports: "It was one of the best performances from me and from the team as well - we took advantage of West Ham being tired in midweek. We knew we couldn't make any mistakes and had to be solid, get all the details right. The early goal helped us get confidence."

This is why we love the Premier League. No foregone conclusions. Home or away, Anfield or no Anfield.

    George

Liverpool have been poor since they played Brighton it's like they have run out of steam. As a Liverpool fan I think we are out of this race now. If so all the best to Arsenal.

    Martin

There'll be a statue of Klopp at Anfield, no argument about that, but his dreadfully timed announcement has completely derailed this team. Players not knowing if they'll be here next season or who the manager will be and it shows.

    FT: Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace

What a week for Liverpool. From being in the hunt for three trophies to two shock losses at home which could have potentially unravelled their title race and bid for a European trophy.

There is, of course, a way to go in this Premier League season and a second Europa League leg in Italy to come. But from the reaction of the players at the end, they know this was a huge blow and a week that could have a devastating impact on Jurgen Klopp's final season on Merseyside.

That will be that at the London Stadium.

It all fell a bit flat at the end after that injury to George Earthy.

But it's a really big three points for Fulham on the road.

    West Ham 0-2 Fulham

We're into the 101st minute at the London Stadium.

That injury to George Earthy of course means we have had a lot of added time on. Most of the stadium has emptied, to be honest.

    Disappointing afternoon for West Ham.
