I said Kilmarnock would need to see more from Danny Armstrong without the influence of Matty Kennedy.

His fine strike made it 21 goal contributions in all competitions this term.

    What a season he's having.

  3. 'Set up for brilliant second half'published at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC One Scotland

Aberdeen have taken the game to Kilmarnock.

They have been physical and Killie haven't been able to get too close to them.

We're set up for brilliant second half.

  4. Shinnie celebrates (I think)published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    HT: Aberdeen 2-1 Kilmarnock

We all saw that clip of Graeme Shinnie cursing St Mirren's late winner last week.

His facial expression here actually isn't too dissimilar, but I can confirm this is him celebrating the goal that put Aberdeen two goals up.

Raw emotion of a very different kind.

  6. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 2-1 Kilmarnockpublished at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March

    Aaaaaaand breathe.

Aberdeen turned in their best 45 minutes of football under Neil Warnock and looked to be in firm control courtesy of goals from Jamie McGrath and Graeme Shinnie.

Kilmarnock were well below their usual standards, but have found their footing thanks to Danny Armstrong's strike last in the half.

An absorbing cup tie so far. Fingers crossed for more.

The initial delivery is headed away, but Liam Polworth tries his luck on the edge.

He's certainly capable from that range. This time, it's a fairly easy catch for Kelle Roos.

    Aberdeen 2-1 Kilmarnock

    Kilmarnock come again.

Danny Armstrong works the ball to David Watson in the box and the young midfielder looks caught between shooting and passing.

Tails up, can the visitors strike again before the break?

  11. 'Lifeline for Killie'published at 42 mins

    Aberdeen 2-1 Kilmarnock

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

That's a pretty good time to get a goal back.

Vassell was brilliant but Devlin has to do better defensively.

Danny Armstrong with a controlled strike to find that bottom corner, almost passing it into the back of the net to give Kilmarnock that lifeline.

    Danny Armstrong

    Game on.

Excellent work from Kyle Vassell to get to the bye-line and stand the ball up into the middle of the box.

Danny Armstrong watches it all the way and rifles it low beyond Kelle Roos.

    Aberdeen 2-0 Kilmarnock

Where have this Aberdeen been all season?

Full of energy and desire. Definitely the better team so far today.

Kilmarnock look really out of sorts. Derek McInnes might have to change something soon to give his side a chance of staying in the cup.

    Magnificently struck.

He doesn't score too many but that is a huge goal for the club.

Supporting from the midfield, he bullets it into the top corner.

    Finish. Wow.

Actually, it might have taken a wee deflection, but nobody of a red persuasion in Pittodrie cares a jot.

Graeme Shinnie's piledriver from just inside the box puts Aberdeen firmly in the driving seat.

    That's a new one.

Slobodan Rubezic was on the deck and Danny Armstrong appears to have looked at him over his shoulder, continued to walk backwards, and then fallen over by shoving his rear-end into the Montenegrin's face.
