Steve Clarke was in attendance tonight as I mentioned. He names his Scotland squad for the upcoming friendlies tomorrow.

When asked if he thinks he's done enough to impress him, Lawrence Shankland said, "naw, no tonight!"

"There wasn't much happening, to be fair. I think me and Kirk Broadfoot just played a bit of judo all night with a lot of grappling!"

Lawrence Shankland caught up yet again with Brian McLauchlin and said "we didn't need to be brilliant tonight, we just needed to find a way to get through and we did that".

"There were a lot of frustrating factors tonight, but we done well to get through," he tells BBC Scotland.

On the semi-final against Rangers he added, "It will be a tough game, always is at this stage of the competition. We didn't put our gameplan into practise in the last semi-final against them so hopefully we can redeem that this time."

  12. 'We deserved to go through on the night' - Imriepublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March

    FT: Morton 0-1 Hearts

Morton manager Dougie Imrie admits, "we were up against a top team in Hearts tonight and the boys done themselves really proud."

"If we had George Oakley tonight, I think it would have been a different outcome," he tells BBC Scotland.

"I thought we deserved to go through on the night, unfortunately we've lost to a top team but that is cup football. They've got their opportunity and they've taken it.

"Craig [Gordon] has had to make a couple of great saves tonight and we've gave a good account of ourselves."

  14. Hearts' 'patience and control' crucial to win - Naismithpublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March

    FT: Morton 0-1 Hearts

Hearts head coach Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland, "It was really good, we were really professional. We knew it was going to be a battle from the start.

"We should've and could've scored earlier but we knew it was about patience. If we kept working them, our opportunities would come and that is how it played out.

"We had real control in the second half, and that was the foundation to the win. It's key not to get carried away with the atmosphere."

On Kenneth Vargas, "We've asked more of him than we should've this season. He's a young guy, his first time in a new league and he has been pushed to the limits. His natural instincts as a footballer are really good, he's a big asset to us."

Dougie Imrie cannot ask for anymore from his players, they were immense.

Their commitment, their desire, every player played to their maximum.

They just had nothing left in the tank.
