Derby's title hopes were hit in League One after defeat at Northampton, but Port Vale registered a vital victory against Burton in the battle to remain in the division at the other end.

League Two leaders Mansfield were held by lowly Colchester in the lunchtime game, which seems a lifetime ago now, allowing Wrexham and Stockport to close the gap at the top.

Sutton stunned Accrington to inch closer to safety at the other end while Crawley and Gillingham are the latest teams to take up the pace in the race for the play-offs.

Sutton enjoyed a fine 3-1 win over Accrington to lift themselves off the bottom of the table on goal difference and within one point of safety.

They are replaced at the foot of the EFL by Steve Cotterill's Forest Green, who fell to a 2-0 defeat at Doncaster.

Colchester picked up an important draw against leaders Mansfield and are a single point above the two teams beneath them.

Grimsby remain six points outside the danger zone despite defeat at home to Wrexham.

That convincing 5-0 win sees Stockport move within two points of leaders Mansfield, who were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Colchester in today's early kick-off.

It's a day to quickly get out of the system for MK Dons who despite that hammering are still right in the promotion mix.

Wrexham temporarily occupied second spot after a 3-1 win over Grimsby and host Mansfield in a massive game at the top on Good Friday.

Barrow, Crawley and Gillingham all won to maintain their promotion ambitions.

Four goals in 19 mad minutes either side of half-time might just have put Stockport's season back on track. Quite what it does to MK's season, only time will tell.

After four draws in five games County have landed a huge blow in the race for automatic promotion and put themselves back in the driving seat for the title.

Callum Camps pounced on Michel Kelly's slip to slot the opener, Paddy Madden charged through for a second and Tanto Olaofe danced round the keeper for his 19th of the season before the break, while Connor Lemonheigh-Evans curled a delicious fourth shortly after the turnaround and Neill Byrne poked home a last-gasp fifth.

MK are now three points adrift of the automatic promotion places, having played more than the sides they are chasing, and with an inferior goal difference.

Stockport are second, two points behind leaders Mansfield, with a game in hand.

They are also a point ahead of third-placed Wrexham, who they will visit on the final day of the season.

Ahh, gotta love the EFL...

Were they going to keep it in the corner?!

No chance, Dave Challinor waving them forwards.

Quite an easy finish there from a few yards out.

Paddy Madden plays a fine reverse pass to free Kyle Wootton, he can't get a shot off himself but he tees up Odin Bailey whose low strike deflects inches past the base of the far post, giving the hosts the luxury of a corner with which to see out time.

A late flurry from the visitors with Lewis Bate's fierce strike from 20 yards cannoning behind off a defender to earn a corner... which comes to nought.

Predictably this one is petering out somewhat in the closing stages. Stockport have done the hard work. The shellshock has really set in for the visitors.

'We want five' chant the home fans. Not sure they'll get it, mind...

MK sub Max Dean has somehow failed to convert a low cross from the left, sliding in completely unmarked in the centre of goal.

His studs just couldn't connect. Think Paul Gascoigne in Euro 96 but perhaps slightly less agonising, given the context.

Before the restart Stephen Wearne is withdrawn by the visitors, with Ethan Robson coming on for the closing stages.

Myles Hippolyte will get the last quarter-hour, coming on to replace Connor Lemonheigh-Evans who scored that sumptuous fourth goal, of course.

It would be a big boost for not just the team, but for the whole club itself.

Can we get to the automatic places, even push for titles.

It has been a bit nervous around the club of late.

For the club as a whole this could be a massive confidence booster for the next couple of weeks.

Another half-chance for the visitors as Cameron Norman sneaks in at the far post to meet a teasing free-kick with a prodded finish but he can't connect properly with the bouncing ball and it flies wide.

I think Todd Kane has been seamless coming into this side.

It could be a great bit of business.

He has that experience that could be instrumental for this County side who have had a lot of injuries on that right side.

More personnel changes for County. Goalscorer Tanto Olaofe and Todd Kane are withdrawn with Neill Byrne and Odin Bailey coming on for the final 20 minutes and change.

Another glimpse of goal for Ellis Harrison, he makes an intelligent run in behind the defence which is picked out by a lofted pass, but though the ball drops over the head of the back-tracking Todd Kane, Harrison can't bring the ball under his spell and it squirts off his knee into the grateful arms of keeper Ben Hinchliffe.

Ellis Harrison really should have pulled a goal back.

He ghosts between two defenders to meet a searching cross from the right but though he gets good contact and heads the ball back across goal, his aim is off and it bounces past the post with Ben Hinchliffe beaten all ends up.

A real let-off for the hosts.
