First change of the afternoon and it is the home side that are looking to freshen things up.

Surprisingly Celine Bizet is the player who is chosen to make way as she is replaced by Martha Thomas.

  4. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Tottenham 0-1 Leicester

Patient build up play from Leicester, who have just about quelled that early burst of momentum from Tottenham at the start of this second half.

The Foxes are still looking dangerous themselves going the other way, particularly in the wide areas with Deanne Rose and Jutta Rantala.

Leicester interim boss Jennifer Foster was in deep discussion with the fourth official Phoebe Cross, asking for a yellow card for that challenge on Yuka Momiki. Celin Bizet got the ball but followed through.

Celine Bizet does a god little turn but she seems to over run it.

Yuka Momiki has both of her feet planted and it's late.

Bizet is lucky not to get a yellow card for that. It's just the follow through. It did look dangerous.

Oof! Tough challenge from Celin Bizet, who flies in low at the feet of Yuka Momiki just to the side of the centre circle.

The Spurs forward is given a talking to by the referee but escapes without a booking.

Leicester need to keep going from defence to attack quickly with the pace of Jutta Rantala and Deanne Rose.

They'll need to limit errors. In games like this it comes down to concentration in the vital moments.

Confusion in the Leicester defence as Tottenham swarm forward.

The ball drops to Amanda Nilden on the edge of the box but her left footed effort drifts over the corner of post and bar.

A lively start from both sides, with the action flowing end to end at a rapid pace.

Beth England is the latest to try her luck at goal, cutting inside and shooting on her left from the corner of the box. The finish is wayward though and does not pose a threat to the Leicester net.

As well as two FA Cup semi-finals and a WSL game, there's three matches in the Women's Championship taking place today.

The battle for promotion has been red hot this season with five teams mathematically able to win the title with three games to go.

It's a testament to the growth of the league, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this weekend.

I spoke to Southampton's Molly Pike on what her experience of the title race has been like with her side currently sat third in the table.

"We’re in a position now where we need to just keep winning. It’s obviously hard not to look at other teams’ results but we just need to focus on ourselves," said Pike.

"Momentum is huge in title races. If you keep winning games on the bounce it definitely helps your momentum.

"I like how we try to play. We play some really nice football in snippets and we just need to play [like] that for longer.

"We’ve put on some exciting games and hopefully we can do that for our last two games of the season."

We know Leicester are threatening in the counter-attacking moments and they will exploit space with their speed.

Tottenham will have to manage the transition moments better. Can they get pressure on the ball and take the opportunities when they come for themselves?

Well if Spurs are to get one step closer to putting themselves "on the map" they will need to find a cutting edge in the second half.

Six shots in that first half but only two hit the target.

In midweek Tottenham boss Robert Vilahamn was keen to highlight the progress his side have made this season, having only arrived at the club himself last July.

"The girls this year have been great. We are taking some big steps to make sure we put Tottenham on the map for women's football and make sure we are up there competing. I love that."

Something that will give the tie added glamour is the venue, with the side being given permission to host the match at the club's main stadium, a factor the Spurs boss thinks will give his players that extra edge.

"When the board told us we could play the game there, I was so happy because we want to be there and they want us to play more and more games there," said Vilahamn.

"It's the perfect match this game, because it's a big game and we are feeling that we can perform even better in that stadium."

  20. 'Tottenham didn't capitalise on their chances'published at 12:52 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    HT: Tottenham 0-1 Leicester

    Anita Asante
Former England defender on BBC Two

The game started exactly as I'd expect. Tottenham built into the game, they created some early chances and didn't really capitalise. As the momentum swung, Leicester have really grown in confidence.
