Lauren James may miss once or twice but she won't miss a third time with such a good opportunity in front of goal.

One touchp play down the left hand side, inch perfect delivery from Niam Charles and a great finish in the middle from James.

    Game on!

    Lauren James (45+4 mins)

    A big goal for Chelsea!

That could be crucial. Niamh Charles gets in down the left-hand side and cuts the ball back to Lauren James, who fires into the roof of Mary Earps' net.

Is's the former United player who's given Chelsea a way back.

Another good chance for Mayra Ramirez.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd curls a cross towards the Chelsea striker but she sends her header over the crossbar.

It looked like there was a slight push on Ramirez from Maya Le Tissier but she stayed on her feet.

That was a great piece of work from Mayra Ramirez after returning to the pitch.

She dribbles down the byeline but nobody is in the right space for her to release the ball.

Mayra Ramirez runs towards the United defence and collides with Maya Le Tissier's shoulder. It's not easy to see if that was intentional or not.

Ramirez is down and receiving some treatment.

    What happened there?

Ella Toone sends a miscued delivery into the Chelsea box, but Eve Perisset heads it back as if it's going to go out for a corner.

Thankfully for Chelsea, Hannah Hampton scrambles across to stop the ball before it goes out.

Chelsea just need that little bit of magic, that touch, that moment that is going to create a clear opportunity.

At the moment when they get in and around the box it is very tight and congested, a lot of red shirts in there.

It's still not quite working for Lauren James but that's better.

She produces a neat bit of footwork to carry the ball past Lisa Naalsund but then lacks the final product and hits the side netting.

I just love watching Ella Toone play, whether it’s for England or Man United. She always comes up with something special to make things happen. That goal in the Euros final, the one against Australia in the World Cup semi, the winner playing Netherlands at Wembley and now an excellent piece of skill to set up that header. She deserves all the recognition she gets.

You can see from the Chelsea body language that they are frustrated and lacking ideas.

Normally everything is so fluid and smooth but they are so disjointed today, lacking that rhythm.

This performance is something we are not used to seeing from Chelsea.

  18. Skinner's key changespublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

    Man Utd 2-0 Chelsea

    Michael Emons
BBC Sport at Leigh Sports Village

Superb skill from Ella Toone, with a dragback to avoid a sliding Melanie Leupolz close to the left touchline and then an excellent cross, with Rachel Williams powerfully heading in number two.

Toone became the first female player to score 50 goals for Manchester United last month and may have helped her side take a massive step closer to Wembley.

All credit to Marc Skinner, he made two changes from the last match, the 4-1 win over Everton and brought in Leah Galton, who made the opener, and Williams. Both have merited their inclusions, and in style.

There is a huge roar every time United cross the halfway line. The fans see Chelsea are there for the taking. How will the reigning WSL and FA Cup holders respond?

There had been a lot of talk about Chelsea being in the running for a quadruple.

They lost the League Cup final in their last game and now they've got a lot of work to do to keep their treble hopes in tact.

Can Emma Hayes find a way to get her side back in to this game?
