    What a start!

The perfect start for Manchester United as Leah Galton takes advantage of a Chelsea mix-up on the back and snatches a loose ball.

She runs down the wing and crosses the ball towards Lucia Garcia, who fires a header past Hannah Hampton.

Martha Thomas is a very good person and she deserves that opportunity.

Another huge goal from striker Martha Thomas who has taken those standout moments on the big stage this season.

It was her goal that won Spurs their first-ever north London derby here at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in December.

Wow! You can just hear the roar in the stadium when Martha Thomas puts that ball in. Some Leicester players haven't got a clue where Thomas is.

The hunger, the want, the drive to be the first person to win that ball from Thomas.

    It's a brave header, a great header.

    Martha Thomas (117 mins)

    Surely the winner?!

Spurs throw the ball back into the box after a corner, and after a flick on at the near post substitute Martha Thomas slams home a header into the roof of the net.

Tottenham have come from behind to lead at the very last.

Becky Spencer does well to get the clearance. Lena Petermann is late on Spencer in all honesty, it's not the other way around.

Just five minutes to go until penalties.

Surely neither side will want to have to go through the nerve-wracking spot kicks but it's fair to say that given how tightly contested this match has been, a draw would be the fairest result.

  12. 'I want to win trophies'published at 14:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

Man Utd v Chelsea (14:35 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner on not starting Nikita Parris, speaking to BBC Sport: "It's about tactics, looking at how Chelsea defend and how we can attack them. We've got to start a certain way and adjust the game. The game could go to 120 minutes so we have to be prepared for every eventuality. We'll start this way but we'll finish in a different way of course."

On how much it would mean to reach the final: "I want to win trophies, I want to be successful for our fans and club. We've got to be at our exceptional best today, nothing matters apart from the performance. We'd love to get get to finals, love to win them, but we also have to be the very best for each moment and that's what I'll ask for today."

On what reaching the final would do for his contract negotiations: "More importantly it's huge for our fans. Contract negotiations don't really affect what I do on the field and how I do it. My focus is fully on my field, on giving success to our fans. For me it's solely about what we do today, giving the best performance for our fans and trying to get to a final."

This match sees England goalkeepers at either end of the pitch.

Mary Earps, the winner of the 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award, is Manchester United's keeper and helped the Lionesses win the European Championship in 2022 and reach the final of last year's Women's World Cup.

But the 31-year-old now faces real competition for her England place, with Sarina Wiegman opting to go with Chelsea's Hannah Hampton for the 2-0 away win over the Republic of Ireland in a Euro 2025 qualifier last Tuesday.

Hampton, 23, joined Chelsea from Aston Villa last summer and boss Emma Hayes praised the impact she has made.

"Hannah has come into the club and fought really hard to get into the position she’s in," said Hayes. "She has grown and learned in many ways. She’s been an absolute joy to coach, she’s been like a sponge. So coachable, really infectious, really gives a lot of energy to the group.

"No matter what role she has she has dealt with that really well even when she wasn’t playing."

Mix up in the Tottenham back line and Lena Petterman is nearly in on goal.

Thankfully for the home side Becky Spencer is sharp to the short pass and rushes out to clear ahead of the Leicester striker.

Both players are just taking a moment to collect themselves in the aftermath of the collision between the two of them.

Plenty of desire on show from both sides but that cutting edge has once again begun to wane.

Surely one more piece of quality will decide this match. So the question is, who will produce it?

  16. 'Focus is on doing my best for the team'published at 14:26 British Summer Time 14 April 2024

Man Utd v Chelsea (14:35 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes when asked to reflect on their League Cup final defeat, speaking to BBC Sport: "I spent a press conference talking about it, I'm here to talk about the team performance and coming out in what will be a hostile environment. It's going to be packed and we're looking forward to it.

"I'm here to talk about the FA cup game, it's a really important opportunity for us. Manchester United are a team we always have such great battles with."

On whether she treats this game differently to others: "You have to take every game as it comes and today is one where we're the away team so have to factor in all the things that matter when you come away from home. They're going to be aggressive and it's important for us to be mindful of that."

On the team's energy levels: "We've had one training session, it's all we get after international break really. Guro has got the nod today based on what we're looking to do. We have a fabulous bench and I'm sure I'll use it if I need to."

On the chance to reach a Wembley final for the last time as Chelsea manager: "Having been here so long, I know not to talk about that prior to the game. I can reflect on many semi-finals over the years and I know how tricky they are. My focus is on doing the best for the team today."

    Ellen White
Former England striker on the Women's Football Weekly podcast

I think everything is thrown out of the window, it’s a one-off game. It’s a re-run of last year’s FA Cup final. I’m sure Manchester United are going to be throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Chelsea to try and get to this FA Cup final and I think Chelsea will be doing exactly the same because Emma Hayes loves this trophy at the same time. I don’t want to call it because I have absolutely no idea so that’s why I’m excited to be there.
