    Tijjani Reijnders guides a lovely pass into the path of Malen. The Borussia Dortmund forward stays on his feet and uses his strength before poking the ball beyond Angus Gunn.

    Since the triple substitution, Scotland have folded.

    We've praised Scotland plenty tonight but this is poor defending. Scott McTominay misjudges his jump from a corner and misses a header.

    Weghorst is there to guide a header into the bottom corner.

    That's good defending from Ryan Porteous.

    Tijjani Reijnders plays in Teun Koopmeiners and he rounds Angus Gunn, but Porteous intercpets his ball across goal.

    Cody Gakpo drives infield on to his right foot and whips a shot just wide.

    He's been really good tonight, the Liverpool forward. Apart from that horrendous dive in the first half.

    He's replaced though, as is Memphis Depay. Daley Blind and Teun Koopmeiners are on.

    This is disappointing from a Scotland point of view, they deserve to take something from this game.

    Even a goal would give them something to cling to. They've created so many chances, but just can't buy a goal. Taking such chances at this level is imperative.

    You get a stark reminder that the Dutch haven't been anywhere near their best and they've managed to get two goals.

    They have always looked dangerous and that is why you play these games. This is a reminder of the level you are playing at.

    Teams of quality don't always have to be at their best to beat you but there are still enough positives to take from this game.

    Tony Ralston places the ball on to Scott McTominay's head from the right-hand side, but the midfielder miscues his header and it spins wide.

    He was six-yards out and should do better I think.

    Game over, you suspect.

    It's a lovely flighted cross from Cody Gakpo, and Wijnaldum slips in between Jack Hendry and John Souttar to head beyond Angus Gunn.

    The Dutch have been clinical. Scotland haven't. That's the difference.

    John McGinn shakes his head after curling a left-footed shot wide. He used that backside brilliantly to get the space.

    It came from a big switch of play out to Nathan Patterson.

    Billy Gilmour is also off for Lewis Ferguson, and John Souttar replaces Kieran Tierney.

    I think everybody thought it was going to hit the back of the net. It was the chance Shankland has been waiting for.

    If there's anyone you want it to fall to it's Lawrence Shankland.

    That's the chance of dreams to score for Scotland.

    Lawrence Shankland robs Max Wieffer and is clean through on goal but side-foots it off the bar.

    He's been scoring those all season. What a chance.

    Andy Robertson initially gets away from Nathan Ake and again there's a little moment where the Scotland captain has the chance to shoot on his left foot.

    But he chooses to try to chop back inside and Ake recovers.
