Dearie me, that's a 10/10 dive from Cody Gakpo in the box. He flings himself miles over Scott McTominay' leg. No contact.

That HAS to be a yellow card. Blatant.

Scott McTominay has been in the wars. The midfielder has been fouled twice in two minutes, having himself been booked earlier in the game.

Netherlands have grown into the game a bit more. Jeremie Frimpong goes down after his former Celtic team-mate Ryan Christie catches him.

John McGinn tries to slip in Nathan Patterson, but that wily fox Virgil van Dijk reads it and steps across to win the ball.

I know it's early, but what a start Scotland have made to this match.

They're passing the ball around with ease and confidence. It's very impressive.

Maybe the Dutch haven't started as well as expected but Scotland are certainly taking advantage.

That's a terrific header from Kieran Tierney to prevent Memphis Depay from getting a free header on goal.

Cody Gakpo's cross was a dangerous one. It's a good game!

Scotland have more than matched the Dutch.

Christie is very unlucky it doesn't drop. What an important hand from the goalkeeper.

Ryan Christie comes from nowhere to get his head on it and Mark Flekken without doubt touches it on to the bar.

It is a great save for what would have been a certain goal.

Just as I say that, goalkeeper Mark Flekken makes a terrific save to tip Ryan Christie's header on to the bar!

What a stop from the Brentford goalkeeper. Looked a certain goal.

Anyway, the Dutch have been asleep so far. Scotland will probably want to test Mark Flekken in goal a bit more given their dominance so far.

I tell you what, Lawrence Shankland has made an impact here.

He drops in to pick up the ball, it's shifted to Nathan Patterson and he drops the ball on Shankland's head.

It was about 16 yards out and it flies over. Good move, though.

Virgil van Dijk has to bullet a near-post header away as Scotland flash another cross in.

It's been a bright start by Steve Clarke's men. Scott McTominay gets booked for a little arm into Xavi Simons.

Not a lot in it, to be honest.

When Scotland play with a back three he is crucial because of how intelligent he is, how aggressive he is, how comfortable he is to cover for Andy Robertson so he can go and attack.

I think when we do play that back three we are a much better team with Kieran Tierney in it.

Ooft, Cody Gakpo slips the Scotland offside trap and goes through.

Angus Gunn makes a good save and then lo-and-behold, the flag eventually goes up. Offside after all.

And breathe...

Nathan Patterson gets into a good crossing position after a driving run from John McGinn.

He should cross first time, but he takes a bit too long and the chance is gone.

Billy Gilmour wins a free kick and it's swung in, but the Netherlands clear.

Scotland have started brightly, drawing an early press and they manage to play through.

The Dutch have barely seen the ball in the first two minutes!

I think these players look at it and say, 'I know I am good enough individually' and 'I know as a collective we're good enough to defeat the Netherlands'.
