Airdrieonians forward Nikolay Todorov spoke to BBC Alba before today's final and spoke nothing but praise for the uniquely youthful coaching set-up at the club

"It's been great," the Bulgarian forward said.

"It's a great bunch of lads.

"We've got a young manager who is helping us develop every single day."

I asked before the game who was the best poser between Declan McManus and Lomond, the SPFL Trust mascot, and I am now gutted to confirm that Lomond - a clear industry plant - has emerged victorious by one vote.

    You've been robbed, Declan...

Owain Tudur Jones tells BBC Alba: "I played five games for Falkirk. My legs were gone and all I did was score an own goal."

    Love the honesty, big man.

Former Falkirk midfielder on BBC Alba

Really enjoyed that, a really interesting game.

Back in Wales, we are to seeing The New Saints dominate. But in this competition, they have to start showing a little bit of character.

They are not used to seeing two strikers against them either. And they've caused problems.

Two huge goals in the first 45.

Surely we see even more in the second half after that non-stop start?

    How is it just 1-1?

It hasn't been a fair reflection of the game, and I don't mean either side deserves to be ahead, I mean it could be 4-4.

Both teams believe they can win the game and make chances. Defensively, both have been suspect.

  9. HALF-TIME The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonianspublished at 17:02 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    All square at the break.

TNS midfielder Ben Clark fired in the opener after 12 minutes played, before Airdrie forward Liam McStravick's excellent half-volley levelled up proceedings.

An exciting first 45 in Falkirk to say the least.

    The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonians

Gavin Gallagher goes into the referee's book for a late challenge on TNS skipper Chris Marriott.

That's two of Rhys McCabe's youngest teammates on the park now booked.

  11. Postpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonians

Brad Young breezes in behind the Airdrie backline, but skews his left-footed strike wide off the mark.

The striker was perhaps put off by the three Diamonds defenders hunting him down as he raced through.

End-to-end, electric football here at Falkirk Stadium. Just terrific.

    The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonians

Liam McStravick is terrorising this TNS defence.

His first effort is blocked as he charges into the box, but he gets himself back on his feet to test Connor Roberts once more.

Strong stop from the TNS 'keeper at such close range.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonians

A big let off for Airdrie as a glancing Josh Daniels header smacks off the post and is cleared from danger by Cammy Ballantyne.

  14. Postpublished at 16:50 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonians

Nikolay Todorov uses his strength to throw Josh Pask off the ball with ease, before cutting the ball back to Adam Frizzell in the box.

But the Airdrie captain just can't get ahead of his marker to guide the low cut-back goalward.

  16. CLOSE!published at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonians

Josh Daniels, take a bow. What a superb block.

Charlie Telfer gets the better of Danny Davies in the box, but somehow his pass across the face of the goal stays out.

Daniels is alert to swipe the ball off the line and onto Nikolay Todorov which, fortunately for TNS, bounces the ball over the bar from one yard out.

  19. GOAL The New Saints 1-1 Airdrieonianspublished at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    Liam McStravick

McStravick finally gets his goal. And in some style, too.

A sublime half-volley is too much for Connor Roberts to handle.

Great dink ball in behind from Adam Frizzell to set up the chance.

    Game on!

    GOAL Airdrie
  20. Postpublished at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March

    The New Saints 1-0 Airdrieonians

    And again!

Liam McStravick meets an outstanding Rhys McCabe long pass in behind, but it's yet another terrific TNS block - this time from Josh Pask - that keeps The Saints ahead.
