    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Wed

The away side might be in more desperate need of the points as they look to climb away from trouble but a win for the home side would give their slim play-off hopes a boost.

Lewis O'Brien sees a shot fly deflect wide from 20 yards out.

It seems likely this game will produce a winner one way or another, of the past 28 meetings between these pair only three have ended all-square.

  2. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 1 April

    Coventry 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff want a penalty for a sliding challenge from Coventry's Jake Bidwell on Perry Ng - but referee Leigh Doughty is not interested.

  3. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 1 April

    Swansea 0-0 QPR

Swansea threaten for almost the first time as Josh Tymon does well down the left and the ball eventually drops to Joe Allen, whose fierce drive is well blocked.

The home side are coming into the contest.

  4. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 1 April

    Birmingham 0-0 Preston

Birmingham, who are only outside the relegation places on goal difference, carve out the first real opening of the game.

Koji Miyosh links up with Juninho Bacuna, who fires straight at the goalkeeper.

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

    ALL Plymouth just now.

The struggling Pilgrims are without a win in their past five but they're firmly on top in the opening exchanges at Home Park today.

Top scorer Morgan Whittaker draws a comfortable stop from Max O'Leary in the visitors' goal.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:16 British Summer Time 1 April

    West Brom 0-0 Watford

Daniel Bachmann has come up with another vital intervention for Watford.

Again the goalkeeper denies Brandon Thomas-Asante, whose header from a Darnell Furlong cross looked headed for the back of the net.

  7. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 1 April

    Swansea 0-0 QPR

QPR have lost only two of their last 12 Championship games - and have started like a side in form at Swansea.

The Swans have also been going well in recent weeks, but Luke Williams will be unimpressed by what he has seen in the early exchanges.

Rangers have been much more menacing, with Lyndon Dykes and Ilias Chair asking questions of the home defence already.

  8. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 1 April

    Coventry 0-0 Cardiff

Since the turn of the year, Coventry striker Ellis Simms is the most prolific goalscorer in the top four divisions with 13 goals in 18 games in all competitions.

He's already had one effort on goal against Cardiff, but his early effort is blocked.

Coventry could move within one point of the play-off places with victory today.

  9. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 1 April

    West Brom 0-0 Watford

We've had our first big chance at The Hawthorns.

Sloppy play out from the back gifts Brandon Thomas-Asante a chance, but Bachmann managed to save when left exposed.

The ball then falls to Mikey Johnston on the rebound, but he fails to force it home.

  10. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 1 April

    Stoke 0-0 Huddersfield

What do stats mean? Nowt nearly.

Huddersfield, with barely a chance, think they're ahead as a header from Matty Pearson hits the net.

However, it's chalked off for offside as Pat Jones was in front of Stoke goalkeeper Daniel Iversen and in front of play.

  11. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 1 April

    Stoke 0-0 Huddersfield

FIFTY percent of the game so far has been played in the Huddersfield third of the field.

Six percent at the other end of the field.

No goals though but it's all Stoke.

  12. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 1 April

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Pressure off for Bristol City who, as has so often been the case at this stage of the season in recent years, can't go up and wont get dragged into the fight at the bottom.

Still, the Robins beat Leicester City on Friday and will want to end the campaign in style.

The Pilgrims, who are precariously just above the relegation zone, have a flurry of early corners but nothing doing.

  13. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 1 April

    Sunderland 0-0 Blackburn

Sunderland the more confident side so far.

Adil Aouchiche, fresh from his first goal since November, has had a header for the hosts which just about prompted Aynsley Pears into work.

  14. Postpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 1 April

    Birmingham 0-0 Preston

Preston are among the English Football League originals, so they have plenty of history to boast.

One piece I don't imagine they make much noise about is their form on East Monday.

They have have lost 41 league matches on Easter Monday!

That actually the second worst record for this date in the calendar, with only Bolton losing more with 43 over the years.

  15. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 1 April

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Wed

First big chance of the day goes to the relegation-threatened away side.

Ex-Boro man Marvin Johnson gets in behind the home defence down the away side's left and his low shot across goal just skims the outside of the post on its way by.

  16. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 1 April

    Stoke 0-0 Huddersfield

Sunshine in Stoke. If only The Proclaimers were from the Potteries rather than the Scottish capital.

Anyway, Stoke making the brighter start, getting the ball forward swiftly, peppering the Huddersfield box.

Nowt to show for it yet, but they're up for it.

    Here we go.

Feast'a football continues on Easter Monday.

    I'm sorry... that was terrible.

There's a choice of listening this afternoon to accompany the prose you'll get here.

Aaron Paul is 'around the grounds' on 5 Live, while Squad Goals are also on air from just before 15:00 BST.

  19. Eustace hopes for Rovers returnpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 1 April

    Sunderland v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

You'd have forgiven Blackburn boss John Eustace for turning off his alarm and going back to sleep this morning.

Matchdays have become a monotony for him, as his side have failed to win any of his 10 games in charge and as such Rovers are just three points off the drop zone in the Championship.

You have to go back to mid-February for the last success, beating Stoke 3-1. In fairness, they've only lost three in that run.

Sunderland ended their own miserable spell of seven games without a win with victory over Cardiff last time out, and Mike Dodds might just have found the answer to their striking problem.

Jobe Bellingham, brother of England international Jude, looked right at home there against the Bluebirds. Another double act with Adil Aouchiche this afternoon would present a welcome Easter present to the Black Cats faithful.

Plymouth v Bristol City (15:00 BST)

Ian Foster Plymouth manager on the touchlineImage source, Rex Features

Plymouth's hopes of avoiding an immediate return to League One rest on their run-in, amidst a run of just one win in 10.

Ian Foster is desperate for a lift and unlike many of their rivals at the wrong end of the table do at least have a goalscorer in Morgan Whittaker.

Holding on to a lead has been a problem at times too.

Bristol City's players could be forgiven for setting out the deckchairs and unfurling the beach towels given their mid-table position, and the fact they're off to Devon this afternoon.

However, there's been little sign of late that they're a team 'on the beach', as high-flying Leicester found on Friday.

Liam Manning has already said he's got an eye on next season and progression, so there's no time for putting the feet up just yet.
