Evidently inspired by Morgan Whittaker's laughable attempt at a cross from a similar position, Sam Clucas takes his turn to curl a free-kick straight behind from just beyond the halfway line.

There's a pattern emerging when these teams have chances to create problems for one another.

A measure of chaos inside the Plymouth box as neither attackers nor defenders show much conviction when Seb Revan's ball from the left bounces dangerously.

Sam Clucas eventually sends in a daisy-cutter which wouldn't unduly affect too many daisies, let alone Michael Cooper. The Plymouth goalkeeper scoops up possession.

Callum Wright finds space inside the box on the left as part of a quick Plymouth attack but can't quite shift his feet quickly enough, allowing Hakeem Odoffin to alertly block his low shot once he slams it in.

Viktor Johansson pounces on the subsequent Plymouth delivery, but this is an encouraging spell for Argyle.

Morgan Whittaker scored the 96th-minute winner when Rotherham visited Plymouth earlier this season.

Whittaker doesn't cover himself in glory on this occasion, sending a dreadful free-kick straight behind when attempting to locate a team-mate inside the Rotherham box.

Rotherham are back on the attack, but not to telling effect. Sam Nombe tries to hold the ball up inside the box but is flagged offside.

"Shall we sing a song for you?" comes the refrain from the Plymouth fans. You can forgive the home supporters for being a little subdued, given the season they've had.

Now Plymouth win a corner, Morgan Whittaker's cross sent behind by Sam Clucas.

There's a huge scramble from the delivery as the nervy-looking home defence repeatedly fail to clear their lines. Viktor Johansson makes at least two good saves to paw stabbed attempts away from close range, then leaps on the ball to end the danger.

Rotherham 0-0 Plymouth

This is a decent start from Rotherham.

Plymouth deal with the danger from that Lee Peltier throw-in, but Cohen Bramall escapes down the left in the ensuing attack and attempts to whip in a cross.

Unfortunately for Bramall, the ball - which ends up going behind for a goal kick - is initially deflected back into his face. He's back up, but that was a nasty piece of misfortune.

It has been quite an impressive start by Rotherham, but by Argyle as well, they have protected their goalkeeper Michael Cooper and he has not had to make a save.

The ever-energetic Ollie Rathbone scampers down the right in a dangerous area and clumps in an attempted cross which Lewis Gibson repels for a throw-in.

This will give Lee Peltier the chance to lob in a long delivery.

Bali Mumba gives the ball away with a daft low pass, allowing Rotherham to ping passes around at the back and start an attack.

Charlie Wyke is lurking inside the penalty area but goalkeeper Michael Cooper gathers the ball.

Seb Revan cuts inside on a dangerous run from the right and lofts a shot high into the stand as he approaches the penalty area.

The Plymouth fans enjoyed that, responding in a loud fashion which is unrepeatable for a family show such as this.
