I am a bit disappointed with Sweden they have dropped off after having a bright start. Since the goal it has flattened Sweden, it will be interesting to see how they setup in the second half.

England want to be bold and go forward, but they keep leaving gaps. They cannot afford to play on the edge especially against a team like Sweden.

Swedish centre-backs Linda Sembrant and Magdalena Eriksson were in deep conversation as the teams went down the tunnel for half-time.

They have had to deal with Alessia Russo's movement - which has been very good inside the box.

England haven't created anywhere near enough though and most of their players ran off the pitch to get into the changing rooms for a debrief.

Pretty much everyone is starting their Euro 2025 qualifying campaign tonight.

Scotland were held to a drab goalless draw in Serbia earlier, but Wales are faring much better.

It is Rhian Wilkinson's first game in charge and they are 4-0 up against Croatia in the second half. You can watch that one live.

Northern Ireland are currently being frustrated by Malta heading into the closing stages. That is also available to watch live.

As we mentioned earlier, France lead Republic of Ireland in England's group thanks to Marie-Antoinette Katoto's goal.

Elsewhere, Spain are in control against Belgium and Germany are drawing 2-2 in Austria.

    England 1-0 Sweden

Just that Alessia Russo goal to separate the two sides at the break.

It's not been a classic, so far but England will be pleased to have the advantage at half time.

We've had a paper aeroplane fall from the top tier stand above us. It's not been a blockbuster.

    England 1-0 Sweden

England have time for one more chance before the break.

Fridolina Rolfo brings Georgia Stanway down around 30-yards out and the Lionesses win a free-kick but Sweden clear with ease.

The England band are doing their best to get the crowd going at Wembley, playing a couple of football favourites.

Even though the Lionesses are leading, they know the quality of the sixth-ranked side in the world. Sweden have already shown in this half how dangerous they can be.

  8. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    England 1-0 Sweden

We'll have three minutes added on at the end of this half. Doesn't seem like much given how long Alessia Russo was down for.

Sarina Wiegman has been up and down from her seat a lot. She will spend a few minutes in the dugout, then when she spots an issue or something she wants to tweak, she jogs back to her assistant Arjan Veurink to talk through it with the small screen to refer to.

Oooh. Grace Clinton finds herself in a bit of space 15-yards out, she's off balance but manages to get the shot away but it's blocked by a yellow shirt.

  11. 'England have been sloppy'published at 20:40 British Summer Time 5 April

    England 1-0 Sweden

    Gilly Flaherty
Former Arsenal and England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It has been a bit of an even first half, but every time Sweden break forward they do look dangerous.

England have been sloppy in possession, but the most important thing is they have that goal.

    England 1-0 Sweden

England have had a bit of defending to do in the past few minutes with a couple of Sweden corners and throw-ins.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd does well and manages to get in behind but there's no one in the box to get on the end of her square pass.

Thank goodness for that! The stadium had fallen really flat with England’s lateral passing and no go forward. That’s what Hemp and James bring… that little spark.

England have given it away a few times in midfield and that's when Sweden have looked threatening, breaking on the counter-attack.

They have a great attacking line-up and England need to be wary.

England's Mary Earps collects a cross against SwedenImage source, Reuters

I don't think Mary Earps has done anything wrong for England to lose her starting place.

With Manchester United she has a defence playing poorly in front of her, the majority of the goals conceded Earps cannot do much about them.

While she plays well for England I don't think she should lose her place.

Sweden again looking dangerous on the break.

Fridolina Rolfo drives towards the edge of the area and opts to send it out to the right for Kosovare Asllani but she sails her shot over the bar.

It took a deflection, though, and Sweden have a corner.

  17. France lead Republic of Irelandpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 5 April

Elsewhere in England's group, France are leading 1-0 against Republic of Ireland.

Marie-Antoinette Katoto put them ahead in the sixth minute.

Sweden certainly think they can cause England problems with those balls over the backline.

Julia Zigiotti Olme tries one but Mary Earps comes out to collect.

Just a perfect little chipped cross from Lauren James. As soon as she got the ball you knew she was taking on the defender.

It was on a plate for Alessia Russo. The first person she ran towards to thank was James.

    Magic.
