    Livingston 0-0 Celtic

A quarter of an hour in and it's been a fairly predictable pattern with Celtic dominating the ball and creating the best openings. That's not to say Livingston have not competed but they are yet to really test the visiting defence.

You can see the influence Reo Hatate is already having on the game.

He's had the ball more than any other midfielder on the park.

  7. CLOSE!published at 12:08 British Summer Time 31 March

    Livingston 0-0 Celtic

Celtic force a couple of corners and from the second Reo Hatate receives Matt O'Riley's deceptive pass to the D. The Japan midfielder, who was totally unmarked, gets a shot away but it is too high.

  8. Postpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 31 March

    Livingston 0-0 Celtic

A scrappy opening as Livingston's Tete Yengi and Celtic's Reo Hatate get their first touches before the latter wins a foul.

It's a bright and sunny day in West Lothian but there doesn't appear to be too much of a glare from the noon sun to make it difficult for the players.

Almost 8,000 Celtic supporters are inside the Tony Macaroni Arena making it increasingly difficult for the home fans to be heard.

Whether that helps Celtic or not, time will tell but at this stage of the season there is very little room for error so nothing other than a victory will suffice.

David Martindale will take some hope Livingston ran the visitors close in Glasgow recently but with a 10-point gap to bridge they know wins must come quickly.

  15. Saturday recappublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 31 March

Wins for Aberdeen, Dundee and Rangers and draws at Fir Park and Tynecastle on Saturday.

The Dons gave themselves more comfort in the bottom six with victory over Ross County while Dundee defeated St Johnstone to move above Hibernian into the top half.

Kilmarnock are assured of a top-six finish after their draw away to Hearts and St Mirren are one step closer to joining Killie after a draw with hosts Motherwell.

Rangers moved top by beating Hibs but can be usurped if Celtic win at Livingston today.

Bottom side Livi can make ground on the two sides above them by avoiding defeat as both County and Saints lost.

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound: "It's not any different to what we were at Parkhead in a defensive sense.

"In terms of the changes, Dan MacKay is a forced change. He's struggling to start the game. Joel Nouble picked one up at Easter Road.

"It gives you a wee bit of hope and motivation [other teams dropping points], but we can only focus on us. I know the task here, Celtic will start really quickly. We're playing against a stronger Celtic team.

"We all know the predicament we're in. We need to pick points up, but that's just words."

On Brendan Rodgers serving a touchline ban, he says: "If I wasn't in the dugout, you'd still be able to hear me on the park. I think Brendan will be a little bit better behaved."

  18. 'We'll deal' with Rodgers' absence - Kennedypublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 31 March

Celtic assistant manager John KennedyImage source, SNS

Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy says his side will be able to cope with the absence of Brendan Rodgers.

"One of our analysts will sit beside him," he told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound. "It's nothing too unusual. It's the first time Brendan's ever had to face this in his career. We'll deal with it in the game.

"We just have to approach every game with the right mentality. We need to focus on what's going on on the pitch.

"Livingston will be direct and work on some plays. We need to make sure we're ready for that."

On Reo Hatate's return, Kennedy added: "He's a big player, he's crucial for us. It's good to see him back. He's looked really good in training. We just felt it was the right time to get him going."
