Burnley have matches against Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle after this before what could be a huge meeting with Nottingham Forest on the final day.

They really need to hold onto these three points if there is to be a big finale, however.

There is some hope for Luton! Brentford have a record of W3, D1, L3 when leading at half-time in the Premier League this season.

No team has dropped more points from winning positions than Brentford's 30 in the top flight this term.

Luton have failed to score a first-half goal in 23 of their 34 games, only Sheffield United (25) have failed to score more often in the Premier League this season.

Intriguingly, despite their position in the league, Burnley are unbeaten in their past 13 Premier League matches when leading at half-time (W6, D7) dating back to 14th August 2021 against Brighton.

Brentford have been the dominant team and the better team. Luton have pushed territorially at times. Who needs Ivan Toney? Wissa as a central striker has been brilliant. Mbuemo on the right has been excellent, Lewis-Potter has had chances. Brentford could and should be further ahead.

You've got to say, Brentford in the first half have cut Luton to shreds. That combination of Wissa and Mbuemo again. Mbuemo does really well, Burke makes a mess of it. Kaminski dives right and it wrong-foots him. Brentford are well-deserving of this lead.

They failed to take their chances and go in behind as Burnley's quickfire double.

Two scruffy goals have Burnley two up.

Sheffield United have had their chances but they trail at the break.

Brentford are a level above, carving Luton open with some one-twos which allows Sergio Reguilon to race forward.

He sets up Yoane Wissa who tees the ball off to Bryan Mbeumo in a great position. The forward gets his head over the ball and curls an effort that smashes the crossbar.

It seems only a matter of time before Brentford make this 2-0.

There'll be two minutes of added time at Bramall Lane.

It's quiet now, apart from the travelling Burnley fans.

My goodness, Burnley are in dreamland here. Two goals in the space of three minutes and the Clarets are on way their to a massive three points.

Burnley began the day six points away from safety. They've cut that to three as things stand.

This scoreline would leave Sheffield United cut adrift by seven points on their own at the bottom.
