  1. Goodbye!published at 15:00 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Barcelona 0-1 Chelsea

    Well, that was quite something.

Chelsea have done the impossible, and won away to Barcelona. But the job is only half-time - it's all back to Stamford Bridge in seven days' time.

    Don't miss it.

Thank you for joining us today, see you next Saturday!

  2. 'The job is not done'published at 14:58 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Barcelona 0-1 Chelsea

    Barcelona

Barcelona's Keira Walsh speaking to BBC Sport: "We’re very disappointed. Nobody wants to lose at home and it’s a massive game.

"We played large parts of the game in their half and had most of the ball. We have so many special players and we’re really positive going into the second leg. The job is not done.

"It’s difficult in midfield. They were very intense, very aggressive. We had more space on the outside. We can still move the ball a lot quicker side to side and that’s where the spaces were. We have things to improve on but we had clear chances and we can take that into the next game."

On her message to Barca fans and what she expects at Stamford Bridge in the second leg: "We could hear them at the end saying we can do it and we believe we can. Their support means everything to us. I imagine Chelsea will play much the same and we know we have a massive job to do when we get there."

I will be going to the Lyon vs PSG match tonight. To all those Chelsea fans who I’m sure are buzzing, know that there are harder challenges to come if you reach the final because Lyon do not mess around and are looking back to their best this year.

  4. REPORT: Cuthbert winner stuns Barcelonapublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 20 April

BBC Sport at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

Chelsea produced a stunning performance at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys to beat Barcelona in the first leg of their Women's Champions League semi-final.

It was the first time since February 2019 that Barcelona had been beaten in a competitive fixture at home and it shows the immense progress Chelsea have made in European competition under manager Emma Hayes.

Scotland international Erin Cuthbert scored the winner, firing past goalkeeper Catalina Coll in the first half to finish off a clever team move after Sjoeke Nusken had teed her up inside the box.

There was a huge chance for Barcelona to equalise in the final seconds as former two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas sliced wide from a few yards out and fell to her knees in disbelief.

Great result for Chelsea, well deserved, but they really need to build on this at home next week.

A lead to take back to the Bridge and I am looking forward to it! Come on the Blues!

  6. Bristol City near relegation with another defeatpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Bristol City 0-1 Liverpool

It's full time in the only WSL match today as well. Why did this match kick-off at the same time as the European semi-final? Baffling. Anyway.

Bristol City are on the cusp of relegation from the Women's Super League after suffering a narrow defeat by Liverpool.

The Vixens are seven points adrift of safety with three matches left and have played a game more than second-bottom West Ham, who will send them down if they beat Manchester City on Sunday.

Liverpool's Marie Hobinger scored the game's only goal after just 13 minutes when she sent a low drive into the bottom corner, having picked up a mistimed clearance on the edge of the box.

    Deservedly so.

  9. 'You do need a little bit of luck'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Barcelona 0-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, speaking to DAZN on the overturned penalty decision: "For the first time ever we’ve had a VAR decision that’s gone in our favour. You do need a little bit of luck. She [Salma Paralluelo] is offside and she’s interfering. That’s the rules."

On the second leg: "We will only be as strong as the crowd hat comes out. It’s important we pack Stamford bridge out to give half a chance against the best team in the world. We are at half-time and there is another level to Barcelona."

  10. 'Nobody should get carried away'published at 14:43 British Summer Time 20 April

    FT: Barcelona 0-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes speaking to DAZN: "It’s just half-time. Nobody should get carried away with that and to be honest I’m disappointed we didn’t get the second goal. It’s a difficult place to come, they carried out the game plan I asked them to do so from that perspective I’m happy.

"A lot of teams come here and go 1-0 or 2-0 down early on and you have to ride that. They have unbelievable players that are world class in everything they do but for the most part we limited them."

On knowing how to beat Barcelona: "I think I know how to come away from home and get a result. We have not performed against Barcelona at home. We have under-performed when we played at home. Barcelona have another level in them and I think that’s clear. Maybe they don’t feel they were at their best today and we have to anticipate that."

Emma Hayes has just been keeping a very straight face on things as she speaks to DAZN.

She says she is annoyed not to have scored a second goal, that they have been "humiliated" by Barca in the past and have not performed against them at home.

    Full quotes to come shortly.

Yes, perspective is needed. This is only half time in the tie. Barca are European champions, they are perfectly capable of scoring twice in the first 10 minutes at Stamford Bridge and completely turning this tie.

But this is a truly historic result for Chelsea. Barcelona simply do not lose at home, they simply do not fail to score in the Champions League.

And Chelsea have beaten them. Embrace it.

Heroines all over the pitch for Chelsea, such effort and application they have put in throughout the game.

But what a difference that last kick of the ball could have made.

it was a great header back across the box from Lucy Bronze and what a miss from Alexia Putellas. It would have been harsh on Chelsea given the effort they have put in.

The belief they will have now is huge, they now don't only think they can beat Barcelona, they know they can beat them now.

Watching replays, I cannot get my head around the fact Alexia Putellas missed that chance with the final kick of the game.

She was unmarked, six yards out in the centre of the goal, for a perfect headed knock-down.

Yet somehow, she contrived to skew her shot wide of Hannah Hampton's left hand post.

Is that a sign it is meant to be for Chelsea?

    WHAT A WIN!

Chelsea have become the first team since February 2019 to beat Barcelona, in Barcelona.

And they have done it in a Champions League semi-final first leg.

    Advantage Blues.
