Jenson Button is up into sixth in the McLaren as he posts a 1:25.160, but that time has come on the softs.
Nico Rosberg: "There's something wrong with the balance - there's so much understeer."
Several timed laps completed now and Daniel Ricciardo is up to fourth fastest. Sebastian Vettel then splits the Mercedes as 1:24.901 puts him into second.

"Nico Rosberg made a couple of mistakes. It's very easy to let the lap time slip away. Psychologically, you sense Hamilton is in the comfort zone."
Sure enough he does. Nico Rosberg is off the mark with a 1:25.262, which is swiftly bettered by Lewis Hamilton, who gets up and running with a 1:24.293.
Nico Rosberg embarks on his first flyer but runs wide at Turn Three. Lewis Hamilton tears through the second sector and while Rosberg will set the initial place, it looks like Hamilton could immediately pip him into P1.
To Nico Rosberg: "OK Nico, reference time is 1:24.9."
Qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix is under way! Nico Rosberg is the first driver to make his way on to the circuit, sporting the white walled medium compound tyre.

Almost time for the first part of qualifying to get under way as temperatures pass 30C. It is much hotter on the track at 54C.
There is a bit of a breeze now, though, which was absent this morning.
Mercedes have found the cause of Nico Rosberg's unplanned stop at the end of final practice, with the team saying the car's anti-stall failed to engage.

The Hungaroring is a high-downforce track and McLaren say nine of the MP4-30's key components are adapted for that, which could account for their promising showing so far in Hungary.
